Damn... this episode(14) was great! I have to say that Gungrave is a well directed show... this episode has to be my most favorite one so far (even though it's sorta sad)....

Isn't Gungrave licenced? Or is this a sequel?

Wow, this ep was amazing. Each ep just keeps topping the last one. I thought I had Harry figured out but this ep truly shows what a complex character he is. I have to say that this show has some of the best voice acting I've ever heard.

I could say that Trigun came before Hellsing, and Hellsing's author was influenced by Trigun, and since Gungrave is an idea by Yasuhiro Nightow who wrote Trigun it all comes full circle. You might be able to say he was influenced by Hellsing, since it runs in the same monthly magazine as Trigun that could easily be possible, but make no mistake, Gungrave is NOT Hellsing, and Hellsing is NOT Trigun.

Besides, we all know that there are no more original ideas... everything is influenced by something. But, I CAN say that Gungrave is the first anime I've ever seen that deals in detail with the Mafia.

By the way, we have another forum for this already.

Harry's character is actually a pretty well designed character! though it seems he's losin it mentally kinda... he seems so calm and collected in most of the previous shows... but this episode showed him as a pretty unstable guy!

but episode 15 was pretty nice still like the rest of the series so far... it was great cuz it furthers the development of Harry's character... and of course... the end to this episode was pretty nice too... gotta love violence/action!

Well, I'm back to report on things a bit.

Of recent news, Gungrave O.D., the second upcoming GG game for PS2 was ranked 25 in the most-looked-forward-to games of 2004 in Famitsu magazine, one of Japan's top-ranked gaming magazines. A neat tidbit.

The Gungrave website now has cover art for the first DVD of the GG anime, which can be viewed here: http://www.gungrave.com/site/goods/cd/cd4.php

The first disc is scheduled for release on the 21st of February, and features the first 2 episodes of the series in their original letterbox format. Extras include: Non-credit Opening and Ending, TV spot and Cinema Ad, and a promo video for Gungrave O.D.

As you can see from the pics, there is also a box release with artwork done by Yasuhiro Nightow himself. Now you just have to ask yourself if it's worth the 5,800 yen pricetag (about $50.00 U.S. currency). I know I'm going to be paying it. If you're lucky and get your order in right away, you can also get a nice illustration poster by Nightow as well. *crosses fingers*

Well, I'm a day away from seeing episode 17, "Mika". So I'll give everybody a further update after that runs.

Another excellent episode. I'm wondering what is in the suitcase.

PS: someone mentioned an astonishing connection between Gungrave and The Crow movie. Brandon Lee=Brandon Heat. Coincidence??
