Ep 24 [END]

So... all that melodrama because Yukina suddenly lost her ability to read?

Really? *sigh*

Oh well, here ends another of STB where the casts save Itogami Island from like the what 4th or 5th island-ending catastrophe now? Not a whole to say aside for future related stuff since the rest of it was pretty typical for this series. Funny enough as i mentioned in the LN thread I still have a harder time buying Kojou becoming some sort ruler than him having harem end. The island itself does look pretty neat 20 years later though, but I imagine all of this won't be all that relevant to whatever future plot is coming beyond a easter egg of sorts.

All in all I can agree this was a pretty consistent show, it never rose above it's "middle of road like nature", but it never didn't dipped too low either. I still maintained it's first arc was probably where STB was best for me before Kojou reveal himself to be denser then I thought and harem antics dominated much of series. I really would also prefer some sort overarching plot to break the monotony that developed over the course of arcs due to how highly formulaic they were. It would have helped avoid some of the questionable writing issues such as Sayaka's very abrupt change in attitude too.

Otherwise a decent series in general with more untapped potential barely realized.

I loved how Koujou jumped at Yukina when she exposed her neck for him, and also how all the others (even Vatler) were like "Yeah.. we'll leave you two alone for a bit here." I guess you could say they were doing it 'vampire style'.

And seriously, how the hell do you mess up a medical check with something completely different? I guess Yukina was too blinded by love to see what was really going on. Nice to see that her own daughter is more level-headed then she is.

In all, I liked this show. Predictable for most parts, yet entertaining. And I apparently have some immunity for catch phrases, as each time Koujou and Yukina said that line, I knew shit was going down and it got me pumped up every time. Would definitely watch a second season, if there ever will be one, especially since there are still a lot of things left to cover.

Well, honestly - a lot of the time in big institutions those sort of notes will simply be 'report to X at Y time' and that's about it.

They don't explain details on routine, you're expected to already know. And if this is a standard thing, they probably did expect her to know. Yukina was just majorly upset and saw 'Report' and went 'OMG'.

I laughed pretty hard when I saw Kojou get all "excited" when when Yukina "exposed herself."
Yukina: Sempai... Here, taste me.
Kojou: OHH~! *sucks on Yukina*
Me: (wild imagination)

The second part I bolded from your post made me think of something. Who raised Reina? I find it hard to believe that Kojou or Yukina raised a daughter to act and think the way she does. She kinda reminds me of how Asagi treats Kojou, so I wonder if she had a big role in how her personality turned out.

Well considering how close Moegi and Reina are together, I think it's probably safe to assume that probably Asagi and Moegi had a lot of influence over Reina's upbringing. Or Reina just sees Yukina's heavy tsundere-ness and decided not to be like that and as a bonus, she ended up being more level-headed.

Well, to be fair we don't know if she's always level headed.

Yukina's very level headed as well when not around Kojou during one of their episodes. It's really easy to be level headed when you're not the one being stressed by situations.

It's not like appearing near your mother and sneak-KO'ing her is exactly the best way. She could've just stolen a uniform when she wasn't there.

Yukina has always stuck me as really diligent person would take care to carefully read her orders regardless of redundant they may. So this feels a bit OC for her to make such a silly slip up. She's too strict for such a thing.

Oh and I just realized that Kojou could have easily beaten the Dragon if he had just summoned the Mermaid had her reduce it to nothingness by rewinding time.

Would that have actually worked? The dragon wasn't entirely there, what with its tail being in the Itogami island, and if Regulus Aurum reducing it to a crisp with its attack didn't stop it, then I'm not sure if Sadalameik-Albus could've reduced it to a state where it couldn't heal. There's also the possibility that it could've absorbed Albus had it attacked .

That's the other thing, who does that to their own family member? Does Reina have such a distaste for her mother that she would assault her? Maybe in Reina's mind she thought "This women won't listen to a thing I'd have to say, so I'll just knock her out and take her uniform to do what I came here to do." Makes me want to believe even more that Asagi or someone else had a much larger role in raising Reina instead of her birth mother.

More like she takes after her grandmother.

The short story makes Reina out as more of an Impish jokester. In it she doesn't have an over riding reason to be there beyond testing the time travel spell. It is implied that she was trying to keep a low profile and that was why she knocked her mom out since there being 2 Yukinas would be a big tip off that something was up.

She knew Yukina wouldn't actually be harmed by it, and it kept her out of the way for a bit while she was wandering around exploring the world of the past. Since that's all she was supposed to be doing in the original story, a quick time impersonating her mother would seem like a semi-logical choice, particularly since there would be no real consequence to being discovered other than having her little trip get cut short. The anime-original dragon that she had to be there to fight makes it make less sense.

Not bad anime, lot's of potential but it never achieved it. All of the girls are great with the exception of Himeragi (she really got on my nerves), the battles had a spark of awesomeness in them but never amounted to anything except a 1 to 2 min borefest.

The arcs were never really explored and felt rushed (I haven't read the LN). A good anime but nothing more enjoyed it whenever Himeragi wasn't the focus of the episode (which was difficult seeing as she was always made into the focus in some way), I've said it before and I'll say it again this felt like a poor man's index to me.

If this gets a second season I'll probably watch it not expecting much from it. So much potential wasted to have Himeragi in the spotlight. (Expecting the same from Mahouka)

The Dragon can only absorb a familiar's powers when it bites them which is pretty hard to do when it's being grappled from behind by the Mermaid. Albus also doesn't just kill a enemy, it rewinds all it's actions to point it no longer exist (regardless of how paradoxical that sounds). The Dragon itself is connected to the other um... Dragon so it would be affected too. Afterall, Yukina and Reina's spear were able to damage the other Dragon through the one the cast were fighting outside.

Oh, yeah, that's right. One of the products of being an anime original final fight I guess .

Then again, Albus is pretty overpowered so I really have to wonder what kind of new Big Bad Gakuto Mikumo could come up with that Kojou couldn't just simply sick Albus at and be done with it .

Well... Albus looks to be on the slow side due it's massive size, so she is probably only really effective against other big things.

Nah. It looks more like they don't get well. The mom may discipline her badly, because she can recovered in the hsort time. She got her bigger chest gene from her dad(?)

Overall, all girls who are attracked to the main guy have magical skill. They are either warrior miko or magic knight. It is hard to beleive that Asagi is only a computer prodigy.
