I don't know much of K-ON, but there are some of these that aren't too moe moe? I really like the ED, and it has a very different style from the other songs of the show, so I wonder if tehre are some other that don't follow the usuall style.
I'm not too sure of what you mean by the "usual" style? I mean, there are two heavy metal songs for the teacher character, which is really out there for sure. What what you consider "musical" moe, if you could give a specific example.

The problem with these types of songs is that they are so intense and specifically structured that I can't imagine it being at all easy to fit them into a VN.

------------

I like the OP more too. Far more technical proficiency involved in it. Great bass line, insanely tight rhythm guitar. The keyboard solo is a bit silly IMO.

You see, I haven't heared any song but the ones that are in the anime (and not any that are in the last few episodes). So I am only speaking about 3 or 4 songs here.

For the "musical moe" I mean the OP and Fuwa Fuwa Times. They are just cute. The ED is less so. (don't get me wrong, I actually like these musics)

However, I have to say I am havly inflenced by the lyrics. I don't pay too much attention on the instumentals (I don't have a good enough ear to separate it from the girl singing), so I believe the musics may be more fitting if you ignore the cute voice.

Anyway, I don't have any idea of how the character songs are. If you have any suggestion, please post here.

There is that too. But haven't you said there are some musics that are fitting for a VN?

Well, some sentences may be put together, like the first 3. But it is a good start, anyway.

I like the OP too. The real one, tough . I just mentioned the ED because it is more 'different' from the other ones. I have to say I like the ED better, however.

Yeah, I posted a link to one of them on the bottom of the previous page. Give it a listen.

Yeah they all sound a lot less cute without vocals. Just nice and calm generally.

I have to admit, I'm not familiar with it. And it was mostly because of the energetic feeling of those intros (because, let's face it, if you can listen to Sorairo Days and not get a little pumped up, you're not human).

If I had some recording stuff I would do my best to do some violin/guitar/piano for Itsumo no Fuukei... that's Kyon's leitmotif, right?

/edit Cageyake girls is rock. Electric guitar is power-chording all the way through it.

Definitely not power-chording the way through XD

A lot of tricky alternate picking sections

But yeah it's a rock song.

I loathe the full-size version and I've never even watched the show.

EDIT: let's stay happy

Kyonko's, as well. Kyon and Kyonko are the only pair who have the exact same leitmotif; kinda symbolic, etc.

They're not that tricky. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

...I'm probably doing it wrong, aren't I.

Normally I wouldn't counternance launching this into a K-on blah blah blah debate, but after having actually watched the damn thing (and having decided long ago that it looked like 'typical moe-fluff'), I ended up concluding a) It was typical moe-fluff, b) it was pretty good typical moe-fluff, c) it had rocking songs and d) I'm a sucker for anything that actually animates people playing their goddamn instruments properly.

K-On is far from a masterpiece of anime, but it's nowhere near 'worst anime ever'.

You can buy the sheet music and find out if you really want to know XD

I don't think it's that great either, but it sure as hell is entertaining, fun to watch. The lyrics of the songs are generally terrible for that matter. Don't Say Lazy? I mean really it's a joke to me. I see the whole show as a comedy and very little more.

Worst anime ever.

EDIT: "Never-ending girls' song"? Jesus on toast, if K-ON! never ended, I'd kill myself.
I dislike K-ON, but I don't think it's the worst anime ever, exactly. I may have spent too much time thinking of ways Mio could be murdered, but if she and her Greek flag-like panties had been kept out of the show, and if there had been more Ritsu more Azusa more Azusa-related copypasta more ridiculously catchy music and fewer snacks/shots of staircases and whatnot while the club played their instruments, it could have been better. Not good, but better.

I see the show as roughly 25 minutes of moeblobs being moe, instead of comedy. I do see the crazy fans of the series as a comedy, though. Because...they're crazy.

Anyway, I found some Itsumo no Fuueki sheet music and am trying it out on violin.

I'll upload a quick mixtape.

/edit It's for piano, I'm going to retranscribe it by hand for seperate violin parts first.

I guess I find moe funny then, huh. I dunno. It was just something calm and relaxing really to watch whenever that I could laugh at and enjoy.

more Azusa-related copypasta
I haven't laughed that hard in like a whole day XD

Oh and Sawako is the best character of the show, no matter what anyone says. /:

Well, if you need a perfect song for a heavily emotional moment that isn't covered by a Haruhi theme (even though it could be recognized easily) is "pure snows" (piano version) from Kanon.

The song Canon itself is always a good place to go. Using classical music might actually be kind of interesting, hm?

Probably the ones that can fit in all of the scenes:

Chase scene of Kyon vs Yuki (the dodgeball scene of Haruhi-chan, Mikuru's in a Pinch song [the movie song])
Everyday ordinary music (the story mode in Gekitou [think it was borrowed from the everyday music of Kyon...])
Something scary in the VN (Lucky Star episode 6 horror song, K-ON's horror song or something)
The Organization's base (Space Theme from Gekitou game Haruhi)

hmm... I did send plenty of songs....

Dating scene [where Haruhi/Tsuruya/or some other girl goes with Kyon] (finding a cute song in K-ON... )
(all I can remember... can probably use a bunch of songs)

I will say now that we're not using tracks from K-On.

Haruhi, remixes from Haruhi, original themes, or bust.
