Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny General Discussion Thread

While in the real world we know a nuclear reactor won't go off like an atom bomb, Seed was pretty bad with that aspect. Athrun self-detonated the Justice to create a nuclear explosion( specifically mentioned by Athrun himself).

Not saying the explosion in ep 34 in Destiny was a nuclear explosion from the Freedom, but Seed didn't exactly follow reality.

Wouldn't be the first time in a Gundam series though. Remember that poor ZAKU sniper in Unicorn Episode 4?

Since there's no need for "OMG Is Kira or not?" watercooler talk all week this time around since everybody knows the story, maybe they'll cut the dramatics down a little in Remaster.

If anything I'm curious as to whether or not they're gonna change the battle so that Kira has an excuse as to why he lost. Like he hears Shinn yelling about him killing Stella and hesitates or something.

And no more part splitting Impulse :P, Destiny should have kept that feature (or just use the Destiny Impulse in the show)

There was no need for it in Durandal's eyes, as everyone with a Gundam that would have resisted was supposedly dead (Kira and Athrun miraculous recovery and new Gundam's took him by surprise) so all Destiny needed to do was take out Destroy's and grunts.

Not to mention, can't exactly have a ton of chest flyers containing nuclear reactors..... It would get pretty expensive.

why would Shinn even need that soon as he got the Destiny he practically threw any type of planning/strategy out the window because "Destiny Stab" seemed to work fine.

well when you think about it. the Impulse is kinda like the Victory Gundam and that broke into parts too, then Uso got the V2 gundam that too broke into parts but Uso never used it as well.

Yeah, Shinn is a good pilot, but without Impulse's modular design, he still might've been disabled by Kira in phase 34.

So I think Shinn's performance in Destiny against Kira is fine. It's just when he's up against Athrun that Shinn gets too emotional and really loses it.

That and the implication was he was wary of being too aggressive against Zaft forces after seeing Durandal edit them out of Berlin (despite them doing nearly all the work) and use it as yet more pro Zaft propaganda as to why non Zaft should be wiped out. Which is also why he didn't let the Murasame's help out or let AA do anything other than fire near misses both of which would have won them the battle.

How? Kira mentioned nothing about his defeat to Shinn, or commented on what the audience perceived as a cheating mechanism, that is, the modular systems available to the Impulse.

He only replied once, to Athrun (who just cannot believe Kira lost), when the latter inquired about the duel, was that he was running away, and could not concentrate on the fight. For all intends and purposes, Kira was telling the truth.

If their encounter in the 2nd round with their upgraded machines serve as an indication, Kira could have crippled that kid in less than a minute.

I guess, Shinn did fine using that flimsy Anti-Vessel Sword against Kira when the latter was dual-wielding.

What does that have anything to do with propaganda? It's obvious that Kira was enough when he beamspammed the hell out of the grunts before Shinn launched.

And honestly, when was the last time the Arch Angel was useful against mobile suits? A freakin' GINN almost shot it down, for cryin' out loud.

Didn't Kira say something like bringing Cagalli back to Orb being the main priority?

Can't you guys just wait for Episode 34?

Seems like a waste of an episode...
Still, I wonder what they're going to change in that episode for the remaster.
