Doesn't matter even if they are loaded, they won't hurt anyone. Not if the ability of a certain Sergeant Sagara to demolish entire rows of shoe lockers with high explosives and cause injury to merely a lot of indoor shoes is to be believed.

€11.7 Quadrillion Mobile Phone Bill Shocks French Woman

http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/39304...ill-shocks.htm

Quote:
A Frenchwoman got the shock of her life when her service provider billed her €11.721 quadrillion. Solenne San Jose of Bordeaux, upon receipt of the bill - which is almost 6,000 times France's yearly gross domestic product - immediately called Bouygues Telecom to verify the amount being collected.

The phone firm insisted the computer-generate bill was accurate. To add to her panic, Ms San Jose was informed the amount was to be debited from her bank account.

"There were so many zeroes I couldn't even work out how much it was," Christian Post quoted the distraught mobile phone subscriber.

Bouygues initially told her that they could not change the statement or stop the bank from debiting the amount, but eventually admitted after Ms San Jose made more frantic calls to the telecom firm that the overblown phone bill was a technical error caused by a printing mistake. The correct amount was just €117.21, AFP reported.

It is not the first printing error encountered by cell phone users. In 2011, a man complained that he received a $200,000 phone bill because of roaming data charges.
The most amazing part of this news is not the error. it's this:
"The phone firm insisted the computer-generate bill was accurate."

Ok, I understand these call centers don't hire the brightest bulb on the street, but seriously?
You expect an individual to pay more money than the combined GDP of the entire Earth?

Reminds me of those early computerized billing systems where it's so easy to make a coding mistake here and there.

Something more silly than odd: Maine town awaits names in prostitution case
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...10-12-03-02-45
Quote:
Based on that information, Kennebunk police have been begun issuing summons to Wright's johns on misdemeanor charges of engaging a prostitute. The names are to be released Friday in police activity reports that are made public every other week, said Lt. Anthony Burpee.

The existence of such a list has fueled speculation about who is on it. Residents have said they've heard it could include lawyers, law enforcement officers and some well-known names. On Thursday, a lawyer for two alleged clients filed a motion to block the release of the names.

Strong's attorney, Dan Lilley, has said he has a list of or more than 150 people who were alleged customers, but that he wouldn't release the names unless they're called as witnesses if the case goes to trial.

The case has rocked this small town, which is well-known for its ocean beaches, old sea captains' mansions and the neighboring town of Kennebunkport, home to the Bush family's Walker's Point summer compound

What an irony; given his past during the Vietnam War, it's like his Huey got shot down and crash-landed into a mudhole.

The peace prize has been a joke for a long while. However, I didn't know they award it to organizations instead of people. What are they going to award it next? The United Nations?

Edit: I take my words back. Apparently there were several examples of awarding to UN branches. Oh, well.

French phone bill waived after 12qn-euro blunder

Quote:
A woman in south-west France, who received a telephone bill of nearly 12 quadrillion euros, has had the real amount she owed waived - after the company admitted its mistake.

Solenne San Jose, from Pessac outside Bordeaux, said she received a huge shock when she opened the bill for 11,721,000,000,000,000 euros (£9.4qn).

Justin Bieber's Stolen Videos Leaked Online

Quote:
justin Bieber had his laptop stolen this week and the person (known as @gexwy on Twitter) has taken to twitter to taunt and blackmail the singer.

First @gexwy showed a couple of videos of Justin pranking a friend and a younger Bieber being greeted by fans. Then to prove he means business, the person taunted Justin further leaking a 5 second video of Justin at a pool party through another celebrity website. The blackmailer told Justin he has been warned and he will release a tape tomorrow at 12.

That bill didn't concern her communications, but the right to end her contract before its term. (which was 117euros something).
The softwares of the phone company went Dr Evil on her and added some zeros.

Either it's a freak accident or someone deliberately killed the old man and dumped him there.
