That's why I stick with my own thought, she tried to kill someone trying to frame Naegi but was killed herself and due to Maizono's Action, Naegi still took the blame.
Doorplates are evidence for that cause it's impossible that it was the Killer of Maizono who switched them out.

That certainly makes Yamada the Prime Suspect, though that sounds too easy for my taste especially since we need to know why the crystal ball is there.

Assuming Yasuhiro spreaks the truth, why would Yamada just take and drop it?

Unless they're accomplices, but Yasuhiro would have noticed if his Crystal Ball is lying there broken.

Anyway, you can't open the door to the burner without Yamada.

I feel like I'm missing something.

If the burner would be closer I'd have said you could reach through the slips but with 10m?

Let's say you put the piece of Fabric around it and try to hit the Burner.Both pieces of evidence would be erased.
Oh wait, the slips seems to slim to get something through.Crap.
If they'd be bigger I'd have said you could throw it if you have precision, reminding me of that Baseballer (Forgot his name), but seeing the slips I don't see it as possible.
And I also don't see how the numbers fit a Baseballer.Like I said, they remind me more of Binary Codes.

So for now I go with either:
Yamada w/ Yasuhiro.
Baseballer, I keep in the back of my mind eventhough I find it rather unlikely, yet if wasn't Yamada w/ Yasuhiro getting to the burner past the gate means either throwing which is why a Baseballer fits the Bill (Though I don't see how anything is getting past the slip by throwing.If it'd be bigger maybe.) or having something very long though 10M?O.oWhat the hell would that be?

On a basic level, the "11037" means more. Look at it on the screen - it doesn't look quite right to me. If Maizono had written 2 1's, why would each 1 have the 'top' in a different place? The first is a reversed 1, whilst the second seems vertically flipped to a normal 1. The 7 in particular looks more like an upside down L than an actual number - so I decided to flip it vertically.

There is a gap in the blood, but to me it reads one thing: LEON. As Naegi and Maizono were the only ones who knew about the door knob error, it's hard to consider anyone other than Maizono writing that name on the wall. As for why it would be upside down, that is a perspective issue.

I doubt she would have picked a name out of the hat as to what to write - so for me, I feel the culprit is Leon, the baseballer.

She simply didn't want Leon to understand what it means.

This one does seem to be quite simple.

The way that the 1's were written with opposite strokes makes it look quite clearly like a capital N where the "ink" was too thin or not pressed hard enough, leaving the middle band mostly missing. And with that, the dying message changes from the number 11037 to the name LEON written upside-down. Then again, one must ask whether Maizono really survived to write this or whether the culprit used her blood to write it afterward in hopes that everyone would suspect Leon.

Anyway, I'm unsurprised but still angry that the first kill was a character I liked. Kill Macho (wo)Man, or Richie Rich, or Ms. Trap, or even Humpty Dumpty the doujin writer, but leave that one alone! Oh well, what's done is done and I suppose it was kind of obvious. Hope the next is a more annoying character, and seriously hope it's not so simple.

It depends because this is for people who haven't played the game to share their personal thoughts without so much as spoiling themselves. Experience gamers can talk about things that are "current" but not anything beyond that.

I think this mystery is pretty straightforward as far as the culprit goes, but I'm still not understanding why they would switch the plates. At this point in time, no one knew they -had- to commit the perfect crime, so I'm sure they would have thought it was enough to just stab and leave, hence why the plate switching is confusing. I don't see what there is to gain.

Regardless if nothing were to gain by the plate switching it did, however, served its purpose by pointing the shift of the blame to Makoto, the prime suspect. It's to be expected since he was the last one to see her alive (minus the killer) and the first to see her dead. All the more reason for the culprit to push the blame on to someone.

The rules did say that if someone were to commit murder, then do it in a way that no one can trace or suspect you of such. However it did not say that a trial system would be put in place after said incident has occurred, hench the change of the situation that's taking place now.

Just my two cents but:

Way I see it, Maizono switched the Plates in order to make Person x believe it's her Room.
By doing so, Person X would actually enter Naegi's room and if Maizono would have been successful to kill that Person, Naegi would be the main Suspect as it's actually his room.

When Naegi woke up, he immediately went to the Cafeteria as everyone agreed.
Once Naegi was out, all she'd had to do was switch the Doorplates back.
Yet, Maizono's Killer (Leon) profited from her scheme and most likely wasn't aware of it.Pure Luck for him I say.


In other words, Maizono tried to kill Leon to graduate and frame Naegi for it.
The Plate Switch was to help her in doing so/To make Leon enter Naegis room.

It was explained in Episode 2 after people discovered Sayaka's corpse.
When Makoto woke up, Monokuma showed up and explained that they will proceed with a class trial. If the survivors find out the culprit, the latter will be executed. If they fail to do so, everyone but the culprit will be executed.
This "look for the culprit" game fed up Junko, which lead to her tragic death.

Monokuma took everyone offguard with this supplemented rules, since they only knew before that point that "killing someone without being busted" was the only condition.
