Don't be too quick to dismiss the idea of having a teacher, especially if you have no prior musical experience. While some people may prefer a more self-directed approach, others might find that having someone to guide you, especially at the beginning, can be quite useful. Obviously, your mileage will vary depending on the quality of your teacher.

Oh, I should point out, though, that it doesn't necessarily have to be a professional teacher or anything. If you have a good friend who knows their way around the fretboard and is willing to give you some of their time, that can help you out a lot, too. |

Hey guys, does anybody know what bass amp Mio uses? I just went to order a Jazz bass in Left hand from my local shop, but it wont be in for a while (I do actually play left handed ^^) and I was looking for an amp, and I thought I might as well see if I can find the amp she uses too.

She uses a Fender Bass Amp Tip: use a bass amp, I wouldn't recommend using a guitar amp. You will most likely blow the speaker out. The speakers in guitar amps aren't made to handle the low bass frequencies, especially at the volume levels needed to play with a band. |

To be honest though, I didn't have a teacher for bass either, but I did on other instruments, and if there's one reason to get a teacher, it's that they force you to practice. You may be playing stuff you want faster if you learn by yourself, but with a good teacher, they'll force you to explore things you don't normally consider, and give you a better understanding of the fundamentals. |

Okay, so, after quite a bit of research, from what I can tell, Mio's Bass amp is a Fender Frontman 60B. I've looked around, and I cant seem to find one, if anybody knows of any shops on the interwebs that still has these, and can link me to one, I will give you 1000 internets ^^

Definitely talking from my friend's experience here; always invest in the proper instrument amp as mentioned earlier, and if you invest one time in a great amp, chances are you'll never have to switch again.

go to your local guitar center and you can order it from in store even if its from another state. Just tell them that you would like to place an order from there site and ask them to look up that amp here http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm I found it as long as you search for "Fender Frontman" and leave the 60B out |

hello there guys,
uhmm, could someone recommend me to a really "good" string sets for an electric guitar? by good i mean doesn't rust easily, doesn't break easily, and economical, you know, has a lower price than D'Addario (the one that Yui uses). i use Gauge 9 (1st string is 0.09). at least it could last me at least 3 months or so. i usually get Alice, pretty cheap strings, but it's pretty substandard. rusts easily and kinda delicate. i tried ashdown, more expensive, but it too didn't fit the bill. i guess i'm doomed to buy the expensive strings. so i need your expertise guys. (WARNING, SCIENCE CONTENT) although i've heard of this string set, rotosound. british quality. it has a string set made up of "pure nickel", and claims it will never rust. so is pure nickel strings any good? strong? has good sustain? (i have heard from a friend that the reason that strings rust is because of the iron in them, and the iron keeps good note sustain, since the pickups are typically magnets that gets exited through vibration. at least, that's what he says. so strings with no iron won't rust, but will not have the same sustain, theoretically, he claims. (i just pop steam over my head while stare at him) please help me.

IS D'Addario really that expensive? I mean, like, on Amazon, you can get a set of gauge 9 strings for $3.50 (free shipping, too!), and for beginners, changing the strings only needs to happen like every couple of months. I haven't yet found a brand with better value for the price.
About pure nickel strings, I have heard that they have a real bright tone and bend easily. No personal experience with them, though. Also, iron rusts more easily than many metals, including nickel, but nickel can still rust. Furthermore, iron is almost never used in guitar strings--rather, steel is used. |

ohhh, i see. well, i guess there's no other choice then. (really! d'addario for $3.50! but i don't live in the states, so yeah, amazon is not for me. really, free shipping? how bout in the Phils.?)
but d'addario here costs about 350 Php (about $6-7, maybe because we import it, or too much tax from the gov't. i can't stick it to the man!). and that is a huge amount compared to my allowance (too little to show). o well. (and plus my hands sweat easily, so strings start to rust about a week or so). do you have any more 'less costly' suggestions? (not compensating quality of course). thanks. and please answer that "amazon free shipping d'addario for $3.50". but i don't think it's accesible here in the Phils. though.... thanks guys.....

^ Wow, that keyboard is a beast! The anime sure underestimates the actual size, doesn't it?
Also, I got an amazing deal on a big 100W, 2 speaker Marshall amp for my guitar the other day: It only cost me $800 when it would have usually cost well over $900. I don't know if my specific model (MA100C) was used in the anime, but I know they used Marshall for some of their concerts, so take that, topic! :P Oh, and I ordered a lefty Fender Stratocaster American Standard guitar too^^ Why, Fender? Must I wait 60-90 days for my precious guitar?!
