To be honest, Tatsuya was most certainly not in love with Lina, but there are definite signs that Lina has fallen for him. Tatsuya empathizes with Lina as a fellow Strategic-class magician, who are tools for their respective countries, and he understands that they did not have a choice in their fates. Regardless of their feelings, a romantic relationship is out of the question. As I've said before, they are invaluable weapons to their respective countries so they will never be allowed to have a relationship.

I have been wondering.

I never saw anyone who survive when Tatsuya uses his decomposition.

Since his defend sucks, he should just go nuts and disintegrate anything he can. I wonder if anyone would be a match to Tatsuya in long ranged attack. The dude has too awesome sight even a sniper is no match. Can martial art dodge his Trident?

Lina preemptive strike on Tatsuya with her Brionac is the prove that long range attack is really difficult to dodge. I wonder what would happen if Tatsuya who should be able to locate Lina first attack her with his magic first. I doubt Lina can defend against Tatsuya's disintegration.

Maya's Night seems to skewed Tatsuya before he could decompose it. But if he instead decompose Maya right when she activated her magic, there wouldn't be an arrogant bitch acting like everything is in her palm left.

I'm also curious about how strong Yanagi, Kazama and Yakumo are. They should be stronger than Lu Gongho and Chiba Naotsugu, right?

BTW, who is the Chiba brother that appears in web arc 5 to track Tatsuya's activity? How many brothers does Erika have?

Throughout the web arc, Tatsuya and even Lina herself have remarked that Lina's personality isn't really cut out for this kind of covert ops stuff. It's not in her nature. It requires an emotionless and ruthless attitude (which is why Tatsuya, who generally is both emotionless and ruthless, is much more adept at it).

In their third battle, Lina could have killed Tatsuya if she had really wanted to. She didn't, and neither did Tatsuya, that's why both are still alive. That's the reason, not "mental weakness". And for the love of god, please no "But if both would be serious, who would win" kind of debates.

In fact, I find the disparity between Lina's nature and wishes and what doing her job demands from her quite intriguing to watch, and it makes me like her quite a bit. A welcome change from "Mister Computer" Tatsuya and "Miss Perfect" Miyuki.

indeed. Fair enough as they do go on for quite a long time afterall with no conclusion XD. My hopes is for Lina to come back to japan and be a love rival to miyuki 8D

Yes. I dont believe anyone has survived it. His trident bypasses all layers of barriers and the flesh. So its no surprise.

I am not sure if maya knows about his restoration, but the fact tats restoration was fast enough to react to her light speed magic is something that should've stripped away her arrogance.

I would believe yanagi, kazuma, and yakumo and the top tiers of their fields.

From what I understand restoration has a (very short) cast time while disintegration is pretty much instantaneous. Which is why he can't use it without his specialised CAD cos he'll blow himself up.. something like that?

his trident combines three disintegration magics into one. He is fully capable of using disintegration without it. Tats can disintegrate the sweat off his body or coat his hand in disintegration. He can also do a wide area effect using himself as the focal point. I am not too sure on the mechanics of it.

Actually I was thinking Tats restoration could be use for almost immortality, think if He restore his or any other corpse every 23:59 hrs or better said on sequence daily basis applying restoration, so the body will age like 5 seconds or less per day and not 23 hours with 55 seconds, so 1 minute age on your body means 12 days in real life (on 5 secs rate and daily apply) or for evry 288 days you get old 1 day.

His restoration doesn't work on the dead. Can't fix what's not there, essentially.

i understand double seven arc doesn't arouse as much interest,takumi(and the actrice)aren't opponent worthy enough for the shiba sibling+sakura.

Have anyone else here read the new Mahouka special volume yet? The one titled "November's Holloween party".

Basically, due to the Thesis competition got interrupted by the invasion the school missed the chance to celebrate Holloween, Mayumi decided to hold the party in November (complete with Tatsuya asking why the heck is she doing this, shouldn't she be studying for finals?). Tatsuya gets dragooned into all this because Miyuki wants to participate. Plenty of good Miyuki+Tatsuya scenes here, for example Miyuki forcing Tatsuya to strip so she can get his measurements and make his costume
