genius anime

I've recently started watching Detective Conan, but it seems to be hard to get more episodes, so I'm wondering if there are any other animes that feature a genius who uses incredible insight to solve problems/win.

thanks

just a short PS. it would be helpful if you listed weather or not it is Licenced. both suggestions welcome.

I have to second the recommendation for Ayatsuri Sakon. This is a very moody and fascinating show steeped in traditional Japanese culture where the main character solves rather unusual murders.

Detective Academy Q is another detective show. It's nowheres near as intense as Sakon, but it is rather fun.

Death Note qualifies, except the protagonist is usually on the other side of the law.
Code Geass, the protagonist is a genius who is a military leader of a resistance in an alternative history Japan which was conquered by an alternate Britain.

I'd say that both main characters would easily qualify as geniuses and they use their mental abilities to get ahead.

And I second Code Geass.

If you're going with Neuro then go for the manga, not the anime. The manga is actually fairly good. And I second Ghost Hunt, the genius isn't obvious, but it is fairly technical.

I swear to god the writer just used whatever came to mind as it popped into his head.

As for Suteki Tantei Labyrinth.... lulz....

I'm afraid I have to agree that Spiral should not be recommended. It is one of those shows where you're told how brilliant everyone is, but then they are right purely through dumb luck and hunches. Also, I cannot get over the harmlessness of all those exploding bombs.

As for Suteki Tantei Labyrinth, I only saw two episodes, but it appears that the main character isn't a genius, he doesn't even know how he can solve mysteries and appears to just have very good intuition. He merely uses his supernatural intuition to help the police. Not his intelligence.

Kindaichi, it is better than Cased Closed in terms of intelligence, not so much on over-all plot and character developments though.

One interesting information, all Kindaichi Shonen Jikenbo, Detective Conan and Ayatsuri Sakon were serialized at around the sametime in Shukan Shonen Magazine, Shukan Shonen Sunday and Shukan Shonen Jump respectively to compete one another in hopes to gain share.

Spiral won't win merits for realism but then again if you enjoyed Detective Conan it won't bother you much. I found it intriguing but be warned they spend more time playing the who-dun-it game than on actual plot. Read the manga if you want to actually get some story.

It's not mystery solving but Fujita Reiji, protagonist of Gallery Fake is a genius when it comes to fine art.
Nicknamed "Professor" at his former work place at the New York Metropolitan Museum, he squeezes out from various tight spots with his vast knowledge and insight concerning fine art.
