back to the topic, i was a skateboarder some years ago.
i was able to do flip, heelflep, boardslide, 50-50, nosegrind and some wheelies. unfortunatly, i got tired of getting burned : it took more that 6 months to heal the last time

My ex-boyfriend from a couple years ago was a skateboarder.. So on my B-day I got a skateboard and decided I'd try and learn how to skateboard. ;x Since he really loved to do that and I wanted to do more things with him and have more in common with him. Though I never was able to really get the hang of it. We broke up and I resumed my life of being glued to the computer chair, never seeing the sun. I think that skateboard is still sitting out in my garage somewhere. :x I could probably sell it or something but I'm too lazy.

I was a skater back when I was in primary school (4th grade I think, at age 10) .
I had one of those very old boards... very heavy, a thick wooden board with only a tail and no nose. Some plastic thing was glued under it, some kind of brake...removed it later and put some better wheels on *!!custom!!* Couldn`t do much with that thing except rolling around and jumping up curbs. The other guys had better boards, like the ones they still use these days... Basicly I was a skater, because it was cool and my friends did it. You could have found a "Santa Cruz"-logo (or something similar) on nearly every childs backpack. We used to skate on a crossing between the local church and our school while listening to old american rap music on a getthoblaster(Ice-T and ... others ). We even had a self made ramp! Hehe, must have been really funny to look at, a huge crowd of children rolling all over the place while trying to look VERY cool... The neighbourhood obviously didn`t think it was any fun though. Someone usually called for the police once or twice every day to make us stop the noise. But that didn`t work, we continued a minuted after the cops were gone ... haha we were rebels. That whole skating thing lastet for only one summer. The next year it was bmx I think (or was it the year before...hmm). But some of my friends from that time are still in that hiphop thing resulting from those "skating-events"... none of them do actually still skate though.
