lilicious chose not to do ch 1 bc there was no girl-girl like the other following ch after that. thats was the reason i read about.

Definitely a necro, but in my defense, I did read all the posts first so I'm not just blindly jumping in.

So, one benefit to being so late is that I got to read everything without waiting (or skipping because of a missing chapter).

However, the drawback is that I can't talk about it with anyone!

I saw the anime a few weeks ago and it was the perfect storm for me emotionally. It instantly became one of my top favorites. As a result, I went scouring the internet for more information and came across the manga.

So some general questions (that I don't think will ever get answered)...

1) What is "BLUE DROP ～ Tenshi no Hajimari ～ (Angel's Origin)"? It's on the official timeline.

2) Supposedly there's 4 chapters to Itazura, but I can't find a whiff of the 4th. It would have been on the 2nd audio drama CD (Traitor Side). Any further info on this?

All in all, Blue Drop has been a very enjoyable experience. In fact, this is maybe only the second or third time I've actively sought out manga with the intent to read it.

I wish there was more, but alas, sometimes being short and sweet makes something the best

Well, I managed to actually locate the raws for it. I know that Kazu-kun, who appears active, and FatPianoBoy, who does not, were wanting to translate it and so I'm going to message them about it.

I think it refers to a particular point in time, not an actual series from the franchise. The origin point, you could say.

I looked all around back in the day and I couldn't find that CD, let alone the manga that comes with it.

So I had SaHa translate Kaminoko (my first ever foray into something of this nature). Per forum rules I can't post the link, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Be aware that his site has a lot of explicit NSFW content.

Kaminoko is a nice little story. I liked it a lot.

As I mentioned in my above post regarding starting Blue Drop with chapter 2... knowing the history of the sacrifice, and the significance of the white hair, definitely makes it an easier transition into the story proper.

I read somewhere where Akihito commented how the story of Blue Drop came from looking out over the ocean, or something along those lines. I'm curious what caused him to develop it from the style of Kaminoko to the rest of the chapters (and then the head scratcher of Bokura, heh).

I've read a lot of his other works too (a bunch of short one shot yuri stories and a major story (Chikyuu no Houkago / After School of the Earth)). I definitely like his style and art. Maybe all the different styles in Blue Drop as a whole are what make it so enjoyable for me.

Anyways.. now to find Itazura chapter 4..

This drama cd is beautiful. I had already lost hope of getting this one. By now listening to Yui's voice was like an unfulfilled life-time goal or something.

That's right. Yui only appears in the second one, and I must say Kaori Nazuka plays her beautifully.

Spoiler for Blue Drop Thoughts: I liked how the chapters were presented, with the first being set after the last. Not too much emotional impact overall. I did feel bad for Kyomi, and it was nice to see that Misato lived and reconciled with Yui. Nice little twist with Yui being the daughter of Kyomi (and the real Rumi). I was able to read (well, look at) the Kaminoko chapter, and I think it does a pretty good job of starting you off with the series. Jumping straight into Broken Angel was a little disorientating because you have to get up to speed about the sacrifice VERY quickly. Spoiler for Bokura Thoughts: Umm. What? At first it was awkward, then it was comical and awkward, then it actually became serious. I did feel some emotional investment towards Shouta/Kenzou, especially at the end with the open ending, but I think this may have just been the length of Bokura giving me time to get attached to the characters. "Salute! Wee wee!" I have no idea if the translation is accurate, but that's cute (especially when Mariel was making Razael do it). I knew that Mariel was killed, but I didn't expect it to be the way it was (especially during a surprisingly serious moment from her). I certainly didn't know that she was still alive so that was a nice twist. Spoiler for Maiorita Thoughts: Oh wow. Given what I just experienced with Bokura, I had really low expectations about Maiorita. The same things that pushed my buttons in the anime pushed my buttons here too. Finding out that Ai was comforting Sachi during her nightmares, and so that's why Sachi kept waking up on her, was incredibly sweet. The issue of Ai being a gosuta, and a gosuta having killed Sachi's parents, while cliched, made it all the better. It made me sad that Ai was killed, because I was happy seeing the two of them together. I'm really glad that wasn't the case, and that the two of them reunited. I definitely got emotionally invested in this one. Spoiler for Itazura Thoughts: Cute. I'm not sure if Kasagi was intentionally trying to set the girls up, or kept having bad luck. The former is okay and adds another Arume to the nice list, the latter is humorous (considering the sex drive of Arume).
