I can say it was pretty interesting. Yuuji reminds me of Tatsuya from Mahouka but with actual flaws as I can imagine him to have them. Whenever I hear his voice, Shougo from Psycho-Pass comes to mind and it's because Takahiro Sakurai intentionally tries to have them bring a rather deep but serene voice with darkness underneath. The amount of pantyshots are a little too much for people who don't like ecchi fanservice, but I didn't mind them since Yuuji isn't the kind of person who gets embarassed when he sees them. What I didn't expect is that his body was surprisingly muscular though not by a long shot!

The only thing that annoys me is the nudity censorship, but given the fact that 8-bit can be a little shy when delivering it, that's not too shocking. I already knew things would get dark when I see things that come later in the end, I'm looking forward seeing what happens with Yumiko, the girl with the most mystery of the five heroines so far.

The last two minutes of episode 1 was awesome. So many hints though lolz. Loved how "deadlock" was used to express the mysterious atmosphere. Hopefully they do not rush this.

Gotta say they did a fantastic job with the 1st episode. Though I've already played the VN, even if I was coming from a perceptive of an anime-only viewer, the studio did a great job of fleshing out the characters and building interest for both the protagonist and each of the heroines. Looking forward to how they animate this series if they can keep this level of quality.

Oh god. Parts of that were hilarious. The "They're masturbating?" line had me, but the "Who called a stripper to my room? Today's not my birthday" line was perfect.
Takahiro Sakurai just sells the character's dialogue perfectly.

Definitely got my interest for next week.

In any case, if you are watching an anime that based on Novel/VN, and you never read Novel/VN it based on, always watch anime first then go to collect more info on novel/VN later.

By doing that, you won't have problems like

- Why anime cut x scene out?
- x scene is so much better in novel/vn!!!

....when you are watching the anime version.

I'm proud of 8-Bit, this was a great episode. Can't overstate just how awesome it is to see the Grisaia characters animated, with the musical score being completely composed of songs from the Visual Novel. (Actually, I think the BGM used at the beginning with Chizuru driving Yuuji to the school comes from Grisaia no Meikyuu, curiously enough.) I like that the episode wasn't just a play-by-play of the VN, but actually had some original material; the bit where Yuuji calmly turns the wheel to avoid crashing when Principal Tachibana's freaking out is nowhere to be found in the actual novel. I also think that the anime might have a more consistent sense of tone and mood than the original story does, which could oftentimes suffer from mood whiplash. This could actually end up being an important area in which the anime comes out superior to the VN.

It's also good to see that the anime's going the route of retaining some of Yuuji's internal monologue, though at the same time I might enjoy this version of Yuuji more in a way since the overwhelming majority of said monologues will be cut out, which in some cases is a good thing since there were occasionally bits of his dialogue that got on my nerves. This version of Yuuji has all of the edge but with almost none of the annoying macho posturing.

Glad this show's getting an overall good reception so far.

Yeah Yuuji... That's exactly what they are doing.

Having read the Visual Novel, this was actually a pretty good adaption of the first few hours. The comedy is pretty hit and miss, but it hits pretty hard sometimes. And Yuuji's a pretty good MC (His reaction to seeing Amane half naked is pretty much the opposite of what usually happens). The direction was pretty nice actually. It felt like I was watching a movie.

Yup, everything seems to be going in that direction now.
Still, those girls are all weird.
Slightly eminds me of Akuma no Riddle x Zankyou no Terror.
Might give it a few episodes before I decide.

Finished the episode.
That was pretty enjoyable.
I been falling out with standard VN adaptations lately, so went into this one kind of guarded.

But production values seem good and smart.
1st episode did a good job of introducing every character.

And the panty shots are done smart and 'artsy'
In that, some shows like this, its just "BOOM! Panty shot. And just stops everything to show it"
Here, its regular conversation and dialogue, but the camera just happens to pan past a panty shot during it. So it accomplishes its purpose without obscuring the purpose of the scene.
