A senior Ukrainian military officer with deep ties to the country’s intelligence services played a central role in the bombing of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines last year, according to officials in Ukraine and elsewhere in Europe, as well as other people knowledgeable about the details of the covert operation.

The officer’s role provides the most direct evidence to date tying Ukraine’s military and security leadership to a controversial act of sabotage that has spawned multiple criminal investigations and that U.S. and Western officials have called a dangerous attack on Europe’s energy infrastructure.

The damning thing isn't that Ukraine did it but that western governments almost certainly knew they did and still tried to blame Russia for it.

How about "The damning thing isn't that Iraq had no WMD or links to 9/11 but that western governments almost certainly knew they didm't and still tried to blame Saddam for it."?

Lieutenant General Vladimir Sviridov, ex-Russian Air Force officer/formerly in charge of the 6th Air Force and Air Defense Forces Army was found dead. Politseyskiy (Policemen) found his body next to a woman. They're still trying to check her out for a name.

He made official complaints in 2007 that RAF pilots were not having enough time for training.

Baza/Kommersant said that the woman is "supposedly" his wife.

The regional FSB Directorate in Stavropol Krai is in charge of the detective work.
