She's been entered as "ponytailed girl" so far. Haruhi can get in easily from her appearance in that soda commercial in Lucky Star, so this one will be Kyon-chan.

If the "official shot" is referring to that scene in Zetsubou, that WASN'T KYON, it was HARUHI.

And Haruhi is already in because of HER OWN SERIES.

I'd prefer to have one shot over Saimoe's bow rather than no shot this year and still be waiting on Kyoto to do anything by next year.

And if Kaisos gets his wish, there will be no canon KyoAni Kyonko...so best to use what shots we can get.

Who's deceiving who? We're just rooting for the mysterious ponytail girl right now. Whom many of us believe to be Kyonko.

An opportunity has been presented. Likely the only one we will get for a year. Given what was the average rate of production, the writers should be done redoing all the novels for Haruki before Haruhi S2 is out and thus the flame will likely fade until Book 10 arrives.

If Kyoto is "on time" we will have Haruhi and company for 2009 Saimoe with no questions or cameos asked. Kyonko is still a big question mark. Thus any chance to qualify her moe when the opportunity is presented will likely be taken.

Now if the Kyonko "fad" is mentioned/observed in Lucky Star, there will be another boost, but that won't be until September or something. And if the "fad" continues, or we actually get her in to Saimoe, perhaps Haruhi S2 or Book 10/11 will do a "version/parody" of Haruki/Kyonko. Some don't want that to happen, but it always a possibility.
