Yesterday's Results:
Kataoka Yuuki - 878 Hoshina Utau - 384 Ikeda Kana - 713 Ibuki Fuuko - 625 Tacos completely stomped Utau as expected. She is going to br facing Chiaki in top form. Kana vs Fuuko also went as expected. Fuuko didn't get killed, but she wasn't that close to beating Kana either. Isumi is strong but Kana is defintely a serious threat. It'll be a good match. Today's matches: Louise Francoise le Blanc de la Valličre vs Sonozaki Mion Amae Koromo vs Hanyuu Louise surprised me when she upset my pick to win Group C, Takei Hisa. I get the feeling that was just an assassination and not Louise's true strength. Even if it isn't her real power, Louise should have enough power to defeat Sonozaki Mion. Mion is one of the weakest characters left and failed to blow away two mid-tier Haruhi-chan character who were splitting votes. Unless Mion gets a massive amount of Saki revenge votes, Louise won't have too much trouble winning. We've got another close match involving a Saki character today and we'll get another one tommorow as well. Today is Amae Koromo vs Hanyuu. Koromo vs Hanyuu seems similar to Kana vs Fuuko. Hanyuu is slightly weaker than Fuuko while Koromo is about as strong or slightly weaker than Kana. However unlike Kana, Koromo won't be boosted by Tacos. Koromo has already defeated Segawa Izumi and Aizawa Sakuya while Hanyuu hasn't defeated any notable opponents. This match will likely be close but Koromo's last hour Haitei Raoyue will put Hanyuu away. My votes: Louise Hanyuu

Predictions: 3-1 Louise Franciose le Blanc de la Valliere @ Zero's Familiar –VS– Mion Sonozaki @ The Moment the Cicadas Cry Yeah, I’m using English titles. Deal with it. At any rate, I’ve seen neither, but I have seen Louise in last year’s tournament and know she’s rather popular. Methinks it’s her good looks, but I might be completely wrong. As I said, I’m taking this as face value. Louise shall win. Koromo Amae @ Saki –VS– Hanyuu @ The Moment the Cicadas Cry Again, another matchup in which I have no idea who the contenders are. I know Saki is the powerhouse in this tournament, but I’m going to go ahead and give the nod to Hanyuu. Don’t know why. I just feel it. |

I feel kind of sad that Utau was eliminated... I wish that I didn't vote for Yuuki now...
Kana... just moe enough to get a vote from me... Louise, just disappear and become a mere remnant of the past... Koromo... fine I'll vote for her just once this tournament. It's all episode 20's fault. This will be your only vote from me, especially if Amu wins her match. My dream final match-up of Hisa and Hina won't happen, but an Amu/Azusa vs Hina match still being possible more than makes up for my loss. In fact, it's the one thing that has kept extremely excited about this year's tournament.

I want Hanyuu and Koromo to both move on, but that'd only happen if there's a tie. And even if that happens, it's only delaying the inevitable. Louise has a easy match against Mion. Louise can't be underestimated even though her recent presence is low, she still have a bunch of die-hard fans willing to vote for her anytime. Oji-san should get some help from au-au so it may not be as one sided as we think. The Koromo is just plain adorable once you get pass the whole demonic loli, but, Hanyuu need to win.

*begins counting any raised hands...* On a serious note: Votes and Predictions: Louise and Koromo On a more serious note: Why I am not 100% comfortable with the idea of Saki characters sweeping the Tournament (it's very likely to happen), even though I support them all the way? On the other hand, I'm 100% comfortable with HnG characters impeding Saki characters' advance just for what's left of the good of the Tournament. |

I love all Saki characters and I'm especially rooting for them this year, but I've been taking every chance to vote against them because one, less anti-votes in the future, and two, I would rather have a diversified top 8 without any character I'm crazy about than a top 8 with only a couple of series even if all my favourites are there. And for that reason, I still consider 06 to be the all-star elite 8 while last year was pretty much a Kyo-ani sweep. Since Saimoe is supposedly a celebration of moe, than just some bragging rights contest (your mileage may vary).
