Well it seems like some of the pactios like akos and makies resemble the pactios made in the anime, just minor details changed. Wouldn't be to far off base to assume Akira gets the same pactio as she did in the anime

Actually Akamatsu designed (and released) Ako's and Makie's official pactio cards (along with a few others) before the anime was even made, that's the only reason why there is a resemblance.

Unlike theirs, Akira's card has not been revealed yet.

It wasn't just a couple chapters back that Yuuna stood front and center with an iron-fisted resolve to back Negi into a more defined resistance against the enemy...But that was when all was going to hell in a handbasket; Now that it's pactio time, if only for this moment, it seems all she's interested in is the pactio card...

Quick and dirty synopsis of 290 from my own translation of it:

Spoiler for accurate, if slightly editorialized spoilers:

We start off with scroll!Eva versus Yami!YugiNegi part 3 (the final chapter, for those keeping track) and Eva berates him as usual (translation above was fairly correct) but Negi's able to start coming out of it by whipping out his Pactio cards (sorry, Luna, not yours) and flashing back to the four sports girls' lines from the previous two chapters. Then just as he appears to be coming to one of his patented revelations—

Akamatsu plot-blocks us over to Fate's crib where he's looking out over the nice pretty hellish maelstrom of floating rocks and eldritch energies with a contemplative emo look on his face. Tsukuyomi, saint that she is, hates emos, so she stabs her sword into the wall a hairs-breadth from his neck. She talks a bit about how he's all emo now since Rakan, and not emo(tion)less like he should be, and when he says "what if I am?" she's all "an emo is fine, too" and snikt! off comes his head and a nice slice of wall.

But of course he's not really dead it's a stone clone (I guess he got tired of water) and he pops up behind her and says he's only a doll meant for doing his job and has no heart, but Tsuki calls BS and says that since he's got emotions now, he's worthy of killing, since there's no point in cutting up dolls. He says fine, w/e, I got some time to kill.

Fight fight. Fate throws metal blades which Tsuki slices up. "Shinmeiryuu blades can cut up iron, so since you're affinity is stone, you're fscked, amirite?" "I am the Averruncus of Earth, so don't assume stone is my only affinity." (okay that explains the using of water and stone) Fight fight. Fate tosses a sandstorm at her (more stone) and she talks more noise about how he's full of shit on being emotionless until she says maybe it's because of Negi?

Fate pops a blood vessel and brings the rain, tearing Tsuki a new one only nope it's a shikigami and oops there goes your arm, Fate. "Bullseye" she called it. Fate freaks that she went right through his defenses but the Zanmaken Ni no Tachi hits what she wants it to hit (he should have read Love Hina), no matter how thick the barrier. And also she knows a little something or two about infatuation, so he shouldn't hide his mancrush boycrush from her. Fate denies it again (he's so tsundere) so she's all "fine, i'll take him, since you don't mind."

Fate goes all "I can't let you do that, Dave" and slices the entire tower they're in in half (along with her long hair) and says "I'll fight him" only he pronounces it "do him".

I shit you not...

Anyway... She gets all happy now and says she's glad she "fixed" him, since he gives her a fem-chubby now (proving once and for all that she's not homosexual, or bi-sexual, or heterosexual, she's psychosexual) and gets the hell out of dodge so that the Fate-sketeers don't realize it was her that disarmed him.

Which was apparently unnecessary, as at no point do they ask who did this or whether they should start manning the defenses (I guess Fate fights with his allies all the time) but they do go all apeshit about him taking care of himself while they fix him up. He flashes back to when he picked up the catgirl (flamegirl and NTR in tow) and stuff happens (I haven't translated past this point) and she (in the past) turns down a chance to go to school where Yue did and (back in the present) Fate says are you sure you all have no regrets and they're all "we love you Fate and follow you more blindly than MSNBC follows Barack Obama~~" (Tamaki: "Desu~") and Fate walks off afterwards (since he knows Negi will wile them away anyway with his about to become demon-supercharged Springfield gene, since the manga isn't called Fatema!) and says some more stuff about wanting to fight Negi to no one in particular. The end.

I think you could argue they were both holding back. I wonder how much of the fight Fate spent fighting the shikigami...
