I find this ironically similar to something...
Ahh here it is... Images Off-topic picture... But VA wise... She is the big sister. Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?....... Well Kuro is the one who cannot get off that ring of Dora... Its like she will be forever in despair, with her sister giving her some hope to cheer her and get her up. Just... when will she get off from the Dora ring?(I mean, getting dora through constant skill activate, then after that if throw off Dora, then no more Dora for the whole hanchan...there is no such thing. How is throwing 1 dora which she could play defensive affect the whole hanchan?) But at least the skill has its merit, Saki's kan is effective on both areas. If Kuro kans all the doras... That could effective destroy the match with a special rule.(Unless 3 kans on doras and tsumo... That will be hell scary....(Not to mention if she kan from Final boss...)) I got a feeling judging by the number of episodes left... Final boss is Teru, 2nd last boss is Toki. Manga is still on-going though so I cannot spoil anything from there. If the anime catches up with the manga... then the last part of the series will be original...(I think.) Last edited by relentlessflame; 2012-05-12 at 23:51. |

@Scarletknive So the title is "The Lord of the Dragon Ring" eh?
A few characters in the original Saki also had their own ring. Koromo Haitei power is dependent on the phrase of the moon. Nodoka's Nodocchi source of power comes from Etopen and it sits on her lap with her when it's her turn to play. Toki also has Ryuuka's lap as her ring and she needs it to recharge after her match. Does that mean Toki needs to sits on Ryuuka's lap when it's her turn to play in order to maximize her future seeing power? |

I finally got around to watching Episode 5 of this.
I have to say, this is probably my favorite Saki Achiga-hen episode yet. It's great to see the pacing finally slow down a bit, and to also see actual superpowered mahjong again! The match in this episode was pretty riveting to me, largely due to a great and cute antagonist mahjong master. Seeing tiles "one turn ahead" is a pretty cool ability! I liked how it complimented the overall strategy and tactics that we saw on display in this episode. It's nice to see our new protagonists finally face a real challenge. This episode really reminded me a lot of the original Saki anime, and for reasons other than cameo appearances. Speaking of cameo appearances, though, I liked the brief flashback with Nodoka in it. I'm starting to become increasingly sympathetic to Nodoka and her "I don't believe in superstition!" approach to these mahjong superpowers. Given how much she runs into them, even from a very young age, they must truly be annoying to Nodoka, as she makes due with more realistic mahjong skills and through simply approaching the game with a great head on her shoulders. Indeed, Nodoka now makes me think of Lex Luthor or Batman, having to make due without superpowers in a competitive world filled with metahumans. No wonder Nodoka isn't keen on all of these superpowered mahjong opponents floating out there. Kind of ironic that Nodoka's BFF is now one of the most powerful of these metahuman mahjong masters, but hey, Batman is often portrayed as best friends with Superman too, lol. Another thing I liked in this episode was the implied yuri on the antagonist side. That was pretty cute. It was also good to see the older sister pick up for, and really comfort, her younger sister in spite of the older sister's general shyness. All in all, a really fun and pretty rewarding watch. 9/10 for this episode.

For the 23873245743th time... I've re-watched these Achiga episodes over and over.
I noticed eps 3... Yuu scoring off a discarded Chun. Please say Onee-chan will favor these dragons (as opposed to dora tiles). I wanna see a Saki series Dansaigen already! === Eps 3: OMG, Harue WAS in the bath with the girls. (in b4 Sandusky) === Ugh. I don't have an Android device: Saki Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...g.riichi&hl=en

Yes, but Toki is also the sickly type, which adds more charm to the situation. Also, thanks to the anime, they've gotten ridiculously tender moments together to reinforce even more the sweetness. And Toki falls asleep in Ryuuka's lap, that's just adorable.

Man, must be quite an experience to recognize anime seiyuus in games, especially the soft spoken ones. |
