Incidentally the Vatican is actually against the move of the USCCB, citing it as "weaponization".

Also this "decision" is actually non-binding, as the choice to disallow is under the discretion of the bishop of the diocese.

Looks like the first indictments are going out for the Trump organization. Nothing yet on Trump but not surprising. They’d likely want to take their time to make sure their i’s are doted and t’s crossed before indicting him

There has to be something in order to be able to indict him in the first place, instead once again we have a person in his periphery who is indicted on an unrelated and/or dubious charge in order to validate their partisan efforts.

That’s a lame defense. It’s not just a person but an indictment on the organization. Do you really think a micromanager like Trump had zero knowledge of it?

The Trump organization is for all intents and purposes a mafia family, and that's exactly how it's run. The strategy is to keep anyone from flipping and turning on the boss with implicit and explicit threats bad enough to make prison seem like the better alternative. So fair it's worked, but New York is getting very high on the org chart now and the aim, ultimately, is to fry the big fish.

Trump and jr aren’t very smart. They’ve basically admitted that at least some of the charges are true. They just think that because a lot of rich families are doing it means it’s not illegal. This is in regards to the tuition money. It was done to avoid payroll and income taxes. But they are just passing it off as “gifts”.

Along with maintaining two sets of books, the fact that Trump signed the checks to Weisselberg from his own personal account tells me their arrogance was so enormous that they thought they would never face an accounting. And, remember, Trump routinely claimed to know more about tax law than even tax lawyers and accountants. His recent claims of ignorance will be easy to disprove just by his public statements.

Alan Weisselberg has been central to the Trump Organization since the days when it was run by Donald's father. Also the NYAG is following the standard plan for prosecuting criminal organizations. You start with trying to flip those in the second tier then move on to the first tier. My guess is the kids will be on the line next. Ivanka's "consulting" payments would be a good place to start. It's unlikely that the kind of off-the-books payments we see to Weisselberg weren't common throughout the Trump Organization.
