Nice fight with kuzuki and saber. But I like the part where shirou projected kanshou and bakuya most. Epic!!!

Although Shirou is better handled in this version by far than the DEEN anime, I still can't help but feel disappointed that Rin has more inner monologues than Shirou. The anime is not doing the greatest job at exploring Shirou's inner thoughts.

Rest of the anime is quite swell though.

People thought fights between Servants were hype, but actually ''normal'' humans such as Kuzuki and Shirou are where the real HYPE is.

Would Shirou be actually called "normal" when he's future self is a servant?

Phew it's been years since I played UBW and I had forgotten how badly Saber got wrecked by Kuzuki in this match. They're really foreshadowing rulebreaker.

Yeah, this Fifth War is a really unusual war by typical Holy Grail War standards, with all these odd Masters. And now Shirou is starting to move towards the front lines, but still far from Kuzuki's level. I wonder if they'll bother to include Kuzuki's backstory, but they're already tight on time as is.

Ah, Rulebreaker, more of Caster's Saber obsession. Another good battle, though its mostly just a skirmish, aside from ouch, seeing Saber thrown around like that. At least they're toning down how annoying Shirou could be, with his appeal to Kuzuki, but at least it clears things up (that Caster isn't controlling him).

Should be time for one more non-action episode this season, I think? And the longer finale episode will probably have Rule Breaker being used?

You're two episodes late for this comment and way too wrong to write 'finally'. Music has always been good in UBW, it just doesn't get tuned out by action anymore.

As normal as a mage can be, I suppose. Either way, Shirou is Shirou and whatever his future life as a servant may be is another existence altogether.

Kuzuki's buff with Caster and Shirou's a Magic User of projection. I'd say that so called Sasaki Koujirou (Assassin) is the only one who fights normally using a normal weapon and makes up for it with pure skill alone

I got to say it's weird how Shirou is able to drive back an enemy that overpowered Saber.

Hmm...Kuzuki's coreography vs. Saber left a little to be desired. Ufotable is really good at dazzling the viewer with detailed animation and sfx, but they could learn things from good martial arts anime/films.

Other than that, great episode - managing to expand on the source material again and not wasting time with needless exposition.

Everyone got rekt.

But man, Kuzuki thrashing Saber around was hard to watch. Like, seriously.

Well the idea was that Kuzuki's unusual fighting style combined with his surprise buffs from Caster briefly overwhelm her but she would have recovered anyway and would be more savvy to Kuzuki's style to boot, thus putting her back in control whilst Shirou only manages to do enough to stall Kuzuki...

...but yeah I also thought it was total bs when I read it in the visual novel...

At least Ufotable definitely did this scene a lot better than Deen. In the Deen version, Shirou's performance against Kuzuki came close to making Saber a Faux Action Girl.
