But yeah. I think Kubo tried to get rid of Ichigo, with the whole power stunt, but it more or less backfired when he subsequently chickened out of it.

IMO, what Bleach needs is to get worse. Just embrace the shitty writing and take it to next level.

the only others that are there are Uryuu, Chad, Inoue and Nel. Urahara's your best bet

Well, there is a limit to how far you can stretch these correlations before every character becomes the same because they all have a humanoid body.

The guy with the beard (who reminds me greatly of Brian Blessed) looks like he's going to be a fun character (although they all do, to some extent), a leader type to counterbalance Yamamoto's seriousness (which probably means that he's going to be even more badass, because that's how such things work)

The random diclonius woman's familiarity with Mayuri suggests that either the Zero Division visit quite often, Mayuri's been around for quite some time or she really rose through the ranks at a ridiculous speed to come to the fore between Pendulum and now

Also, Unohana's mentor's comment of "What you're meant to do now is not healing" suggests that her real purpose is to be a fighter, and that she's just been hiding it for fear of cramping on people's style - I very much hope that it's that, rather than a quirk of the translation

It seems like right now Kubo is a lot better when he isn't handling fights. Yakuza guy being Unohana's mentor really fits somehow. Shinji was being.....Shinji - that's why he is third on my list of trolls

(first two being Urahara and Aizen).

The reactions of Kyouraku and Retsu(she looked real pissed when he called her that) were really interesting.
To be Honest after the Aizen fight I have lost all interest in Ichigo. I only bear him in the hope that hollow Ichigo will return. I'm only reading for the rest of the characters.

And, Shit is going down when Retsu enters the ring(I sure hope so).

And Unohana seems like she doesnt want to be called "Retsu" ? And seems like the guy in pompadour is gonna release the violent side of Unohana sooner or later . And Kirio is a fat ass now ? I cant imagine how she looked like back then . And Urahara finally having contact with Soul Society . He's prolly gonna say , "Nice to meet you again Zero Division , but still , I wont hand Kurosaki-san and Zangetsu over to you whatever the reason may be" then steals Ichigo out of nowhere . __________________
