I bought them at my local Kinokuniya.

Oh ok. Most anime stores at my area are too far away, so I dont get many chances at buying figs or statues. Well heres a nice resin statue of Faye Valentine from cowboy bebop and one of the best Ive seen depicting her.

Rei does complement Asuka well for the classroom scenes ( might get her in those to boost Asuka further! )
You got it! Enlarged the important part a little.
Those figures are very nice, but I like this one even much more!
What do you think - does she wear a slip under that shirt?
I don't think so

Gashapon are really quite cheap at $2 a figure. It's only expensive if you are aiming for a complete collection of a set of figs at which you tend to get lots of extras. Now there are places you can get a complete set of figs at $20-$30 a set.

Then there are much larger version of Gashapon figs which comes in boxes instead of capsules with random figs in the box. Those are known as Trading Figures and cost up to $7 a box......
Well, he always tries to get a complete set, so there is a bit of a cost involved in that. Also, most of his collection are actually Trading Figures and ran him $7 and up. It goes up because many of the sets are limited runs that are hard to get in America. (He gets a lot of them on eBay.) Since he's got several hundred figures... let's just say that even at $7 it probably multiplies out to something slightly obscene.

I asked him what was the most he ever paid for a complete set of figures. He said that it was a set of Tsukihime figures that ran him $90.00 so I took a picture of them for everyone's enjoyment. (You can only spot them from amongst the collection photos if you look very carefully.) I don't know if they are worth it, but they are definitely very nice.

Personally I think only Ciel is worth getting in that set. The other characters are portrayed too far from the 'ideal images' I hold in my mind ( e.g. Arcueid's eyes are too far apart or large ).

Yup.That's the mentality one should carry if you are going into such a hobby or else you defnitely find yourself out of funds before you know it.

There are crap figs out there that are not worth collecting at all such as Bandai's Mai-Hime gasha set.

Instead of paying attention to the fig,I suggest would-be collectors to select a particular company which they like and collect the series under them.

For me that will be :-

1.Yujin
2.Kaiyodo
3.Kotobukiya

Yeah those would be the company's that I would try getting figures and statues from, because most of there creations turn out really good. Also does anyone know which trading figure set is the hardest to complete?

From what I've encountered, that will be the Disgaea ones that was released last year.

A complete set's worth a lot and I mean REAL a lot on auctions now.

For me, my favourite company is Yamato. I fell in love with their Macross Valkyries. I'm planning to get ROD TV and Bottle Fairy figurines from Yamato as well.

I just collect whatever interests me. Whether it's a manga, a figure, or a watch. Seriously, though; people collect art for whatever reason he may have, and value may either not happen soon or at all. It's what the collector gets out of it that's what is most important.

Although if you are collecting for profit, rarity does play a part.

Sweet. Woah. I just seen the Tachikoma variants seen in the Tachikoma variants and they look great! It's a home-made garage kit though so you can't buy it. =(

Out of production.

Buy @ exorbitant price from auctions.

Even if there is are some place selling that, 2 of the figures (That Angel Etna and Devil Flon.) is only sold exclusively at last year's Wonder Fest, so you'll never get a complete set.

This is another great Neon genesis statue of Asuka. Currently Im trying to get my hands on this.

I like this statue because it is extremly detailed and has a nice color to it.
