Thanks for this thread, I just read all the 16 currently available chapters. I've always liked the Igor clan in the Discworld novels (you could say they're also very skilled at surgery), so seeing a manga with a lead who behaves like them is quite entertaining.

I think I'm developing a fetish for stitches...

You mean you didn't start questioning her from the very first chapter to start with?

Well the first couple of chapters she helped them cause they were either dying or because of "love" or something like that. While this time she helped them, and then took all their organs. I dont actually see how that's "helping."

Urgh, this manga is wrong in so many ways. I regret eating while reading it (blame the download manager that finished this one first when I was eating). Too much gore to my taste, but Fran-chan saves the day. Each chapter passes, she looks more and more ordinary compare to everything happens around her.

For some reasons, I really hate chapter 2. The ending ruins it all.

Btw, does anyone have "normal" fan-art of this series? I don't want to run into a gore fest...

The ending was one of the most wrong things in this series. Others include chapter 7 and the end of 15. If you haven't read those two yet, you have now been warned.

At least those 2 don't have a touching story as the one in chapter 2. That guy in chapter 7 deserves that, so as that old hag in chapter 15. I was speechless for a moment when I finish chapter 2.

Anyways I finished 3 chapter, catching up while I have time. I fully regret it, even though I am fan of gore, but it just that... 3 chapter is too much. I can't even keep it all in.

chapter 2 was wrong period, I could of done without it really. The rest of the manga is pretty fun, even though you know whats coming at the end of every chapter (something horrible). 18 and 21 were pretty great, 2 of my favorite chapters so far. And the return of the police women was fun too.

I don't think I'd have translated it if it wasn't for chapter 2. The night after I first read it, I went to dinner with my girlfriend and roommate and explained it "And then they were all happy and stuff *drinks tea* they went off to a hotel *takes a bite* and then she eats him.*drinks*" I surround myself with people as screwed up as myself, so we all had a good laugh and they're like "yeah, translate that one" so I did. History made.

I'm kinda sad that we're caught up now.... I'm gonna have to find something else to gross out people inbetween monthly chapters.

She's kind of cute when she gets angry that the killer from chapter 15, who became part of some group that wants to kill Fran, her father, and anything they've created, hasn't come back for a while to try and kill them. Fran thought she had a crush on him and offered to make Veronica a boyfriend. As it turns out, he got together with a cute girl; cute as long as she doesn't open her eyes. I suppose there's a reason why people in anime keep their eyes closed nearly all the time.

Spoiler for ch 19-21: Starting with chapter 19, how the guys came to be so cool and composed was hilarious -- although the punchline is the usual total gross-out. A more important aspect, though, is how Fran is treated at school. I always find the school chapters hilarious and strangely "cheerful" even when they get really messed up because the students just remain friendly to Fran and take the scariest possible things in stride. Usually you'd expect them to run away screaming or attempt some pathetic bullying, but these people know their priorities it seems. What a school. Chapters 20 and 21 are...touching? In the Franken Fran, f'd up, what the hell kind of way. Despite the epidemic in the movie team and especially that director and the new pedophilic menace in the theme park, I'm impressed by the actress' determination and the suicidal boy's newfound purpose in life, really. Aww.

What Fran did could be a method to control people like rapists and other sexually deprived criminals. But I'm afraid the world is not ready for something like that, or anything in this series . 20 and 21 do seem touching Irenicus. A few comments on those two: I wonder how everyone got infected if only the director touched the "body" (which I suppose in this case would be considered necrophilia); the police officer makes a return (I kinda like her character); I don't think the mascot character has genitals to rape children with.
