Just read the prologue and the first chapter, really interesting so far. Though the narration is rather unlike other Light novels.

It doesn't really seem much of a self insert, it might be, depending on how it is handled, but the prologue and chapter 1 did not seem like a usual self insert.
The MC is, powerful, but also flawed, respected, but not universally so, competent, but capable of mistakes.

So whether it is a self insert or not (anymore so than any other story with first person main character), it looks like worth giving a shot.

using the label yandere on the MC when he/she isn't showing any romantic interest in any one not to mention stalking isn't right . . .

I've only helped editing the 1st chapter (aka: Didn't read read the prologue), but isn't the protagonist more of a sociopath?

Psychopaths are more self-centered I think...

The terms are not mutually exclusive, and not well defined in common use, so i have seen them being used interchangeably, but the way i see it, Psychopaths enjoy causing pain and destruction or can't control themselves, and Sociopaths don't care if they cause if they cause pain and destruction and are are able to control themselves.

So yeah, MC is more of a sociopath, possibly pretending to be a psychopath (or others simply interpret her actions as psychotic due to how they just don't fit a 10 year old girl).

Good luck inserting you in one character in this. That's the best reason for why you shouldn't think it's a self insert honestly

I'd say she's just a very pragmatic person, who looks like a psycho to some due to her actions not fitting her outward appearance.

I think there is a limit to pragmatism... how many pragmatic people would attempt to kill someone just because they didn't listen to orders?

Err, what she did was on line with what is supposed to be done in their military. Legally, killing that person wasn't wrong. If you take in account the fact that it was just training and that she didn't hesitate even though she's a child then it becomes frightening, but technically, she was just doing her duty as the commander. Which is exactly what they asked her to do. She just pushed the things as perfectly as a veteran commander on the middle of a battlefield rather than acting like a child like the other soldiers in training. Which is logical since she isn't really a child.

The main character can be labelled as slightly psychotic/over the top. Later on in the story, Tanya almost executed one of her Lieutenants for ordering his entire company to take evasive maneuver when Tanya deemed it wasn't necessary.

Still, I think there should/would/could have been other ways to deal with the situation... for example ridiculing him in fron of everyone or something.

I can understand doing that "on the battlefield", but that was a training exercise. What kind of army allows their soldier to get killed because they didn't train properly?

The MC is, powerful, but also flawed, respected, but not universally so, competent, but capable of mistakes. So whether it is a self insert or not (anymore so than any other story with first person main character), it looks like worth giving a shot.
