Of course it does. Consumers who buy doujins are much more likely to buy discs, and vice-versa. There’s a huge overlap in those two markets, and for most series it’s disc sales that are the single greatest factor when it comes to profitability.

I saw T&B trending on Twitter and I was wondering just what was going on, but a new series, huh...
I'm not sure if I'm actually on board in theory - Tiger&Bunny is one of my favorite shows, but it had a perfectly good conclusion story- and character-wise, and I don't think it needs a sequel. But who knows? In any case, I'm looking forward to it. (And in any case, this is a good excuse to rewatch the series.) |

On the one hand, yay, more Kotetsu! And Bunny-chan, er, Barnaby. I've seen this series as still highly ranked on the occasional poll, but I didn't expect it to get a sequel. (Not like I'll ever have a chance to go to something like Comiket either to gauge interest).
On the other hand, despite a few loose ends, I liked the TV show conclusion, it was quite fine on its own. And dragging things out longer might or might not work. Even the Rising movie didn't mess with the status quo too much. Guess we'll see, the first series was quite good at working with with cliches without overdoing it. Now's as good a time as any to dig out my discs (or just binge watch it on Netflix again). |

All in all, let's just hope this second series won't be equal to T&B overstaying it's welcome. Bring something new. Maybe a crossover with heroes from other nations or something.

Did the first season ever properly deal with that blue flamethrower guy?
