Yes, the OC commits a slaughter per Tabene's order, apparently don't like that the prototype fighter can fight an I.S.

I'm holding myself from channeling Jasper as of now, that would be too hypocritical.

Hence why I said it would be hypocritical for me to criticize it.

From my understanding, an OC has to be awesome so they can rob attention form Canon characters, big time. My only countermeasure against that? All of my OC are secondary character, so they lacked spotlight from the get go.

Only few author really put any effort to balance CC and OC, creating a brand new harmony in terms of character ensemble. This is far, far better than what I said above. You're one of them

I didn't balanc the two, I just gimped the OC to the point that he's a cripple that nobody can say he's OP unless they were being unreasonable. There's actually an easy way out of the prob: Just make the canon characters stronger. You did that as well. I just made the CC crazier in the bad future to compensate for the unstable protag.

It's easy for me to ignore balance since my fic takes place in a time where most of the canon cast isn't there. The only one she really inter-acts with is Tatenashi, it's not difficult to make a character that's weaker than the strongest.

In any other archive, we're at least given leeway. In here, you need to makre sure you don't go overboard or you might as well put up your flame shield.

Anywya, OC rage aside, haven't you ever think about the similarity in Character Combat Styles?

Cecilia = Ryu -> Overspecialized evasive sniper with pinpoint ability
Madoka = Akuma -> Aggressive marksman that relies on calculation, tactics and sheer talent
Charles = Ken -> Flexible gunfighter that adapt to situation on a whim
Yuzu = Dan -> Dedicated rookie with inherent talent to play as auxiliary

Well, in RPG terms.

Canon Characters

Ichika - Powerhouse with low MP

Cecilia - Squishy Wizard.

Rin - Damage per second specialist.

Laura - Slow but powerful tank.

Charlotte - Jack of all Stats.

Chifuyu - Gamebreaker.

Maya - Agile sniper.

Tatenashi - ....Lady of war?

Kanzashi - Macross Missile massacre.

Tabane - Troll.

OC

Irish - One hit point fragile speedster.

Kazuma (Future) - Combat pragmatist lightning bruiser.
