Or was this played when Domel decimated the Gatlantean squadron in 2199?
It was played then, yes. Domel beat down the Gatlanteans with their own theme song.

I think an old word fits this well...

...Dude.

YouTube
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Things I see:

A Cosmo Zero is on Yamato.

I wonder which fleet looks like it is fleeing and getting blown up. Could that be the fleet that was over Planet 11 and the Earth fleet's arrived to clean up? Or some other fleet that was near Telezart and forced to flee either Dessler, Yamato, or Teresa. It is probably Nazca's fleet that was over Planet 11.

That is a lot of Medaruusa....seeming replacing the tanks entirely. One has a Reflex Cannon.

Yamato seems to one shot almost anything in Gatlatis's fleet. From destroyers on up to battleships. So while their numbers might seem like a problem, if Earth ships and to a lesser degree Gamilas ships can take the punishment of multiple enemy shots, they can each take out far more Gatlantis ships than they bring to the battle. Earth has the massive wave motion barrier advantage, and the Gamilas armor coating might be viable given how much damage one of their battlecaarriers took fighting an enemy fleet.

The marines mechs are taking out cruiser, destroyers, and fighters, with some work to take out a Medaruusa. The booster that Kato brought seems to carry between 30 and 40 of them and can warp on its own.

There is a poster that also is coming out, but I am unclear if it is for Chapter 4 or if it is for the second half of the series, since it shows what looks like the combined Earth fleet (with cruisers/destroyers) and the Gatlantis fleet with a huge Twin Deck carrier leading the formation.

Do we have a name for the huge missile some of the Gatlantis Missile Battleships are carrying around? The one that is as long or longer than their entire ship?

We see Talan (younger sibling)

Kodai seems to be over his wave motion gun issues.

Original theme song is back, but I think it is one of the other verses...probably for the first time in the show.

Trailer stream of thoughts:

I hope the battle sequences look as good as it's shown, however stuff like how the (ground?) Medalusa is exploding remind me of why I prefer 2199's effects over 2202's.

Once again I reiterate my dislike of 2202's original designs. So that's apparently 3 different ships with the same black colorscheme and the exact same fucking filigree designs despite it supposedly being an "ancient Gamilas pattern". Also alas poor Medalusa, resigned to super fodder mode. Personally would have liked an actual tank instead of literally a land ship, but that's Kobayashi's "genius" for you.

Looks like Gatlantis also stole reflection gun technology. Presumably we have Dessler to blame. I'm amused they literally just stuck the Flame Strike Gun's model onto the turret barrel. It kinda just feels really lazy? On closer inspection it might have that bulb thing the Gamilas version has at the end but my point still stands.

Yamamoto's being beaten up by not!Sabella for reasons. I mean what else is she good for right? I did see Saito fist bumping Kato. Neat little moment. RIP Kiryu/Saito sibling-like interactions. Also Saito being an overprotective brother for Kiryu with her friendship with Sawamura.

Also Yamato's fighting Neu Deusura in a blue tunnel of love. I ship it. :P

Confirmation the Cosmo Tiger II booster has warp functionality. Considering the FS torpedo boat has it it's not unbelievable.

It appears they're going into "mechs are super better than everything else" which I'm...ambivalent on.

Is it just me, or did they make the women's suits look significantly more like latex? There's way too much reflection on them compared to 2199. I'm really confused why they did that.

I want that box art just so I can start trying to draw Neu Deusura. It kinda feels like it could have been like half the length though. Here's another piece of box art with what looks like its back end.

TBH not that much a fan, mainly because of the middle section. Rest looks alright.

The blue Lascaux that's exploding in the beginning is also crackling with green lightning.

They timed the piano glissando in the opening song with Sabella playing the Gatlantis piano!

At then end Yamato's being sucked into something. Mechs are trying to keep it up while it fires the WMG at some Gostok bow missiles.

Also, here's a poster.

Finally shows the Gatlantis double-deck carrier. If it's in scale with the Gostoks, it's likely about 1000 meters long. Also means we'll likely never get a 1/1000 model. Guys, I appreciate bigger is better in some circumstances, but come on. I'd like some 1/1000 Gatlantis models, please? Also finally a model of the patrol cruiser. It also looks like they're gonna go the stupid route and 5 million Dreadnoughts vs 5 million Calakmuls!!!!!111!!

The Earth fleet looks smaller, but that could be because it looks organized into ranks of ships in the distance, while the Gatlantis fleet is a massive blob of green ships. Looks like 10,000 verses only one thousand Earth ships. Which is probably a fair fight with all those wave motion guns and shields in play.

I wonder if the blue glowing bits on the front of the carrier are special weapons.

2199 was in SRW V.

Sometime after 2202 ends, it's very likely it'll debut in a new SRW game.

I did a very rough scaling of the Neu Deusura on the box art.

Images

I used the Deusura core ship and the Gostok as references. The box art Yamato seems off even considering the art is slanted seeing as it's shorter than the Gostok even though it's 21 meters longer. In any case, this gives the Neu Deusura a length of roughly 830 meters, making it the largest ship in the show.

I wonder if the scaling if off slightly since the Yamato in the box art image is smaller than your scaled drawing. But I think the website mentioned that Desler's ship was 730 meters long without taking into account the forward pointy bits. And that about matches up with your scale art of the Fleet Battleship below.

On the poster art and such. Desler's ship seems to be firing back at Yamato as they trade AA battery fire. I don't know why they are doing this, since such low power weapons shouldn't do much, if any damage to their respective ships.

The planet in the poster is definitely Saturn. The ring runs vertically in the art dividing the two forces.

Ok finally got a chance to check out volume 3's episodes.

Questions:

Are Zordar(?) and Sabera able to remotely control those 2 by themselves or is there an intermediary used to do that? Is it just a Gatlantis ability or only those 2 are special? Who controls the creation of new Gatlantis people?

Will they explain how Dessler survived?

Will Keyman's real identity be fleshed out?

If the answers are spoilers and things will be covered then I'm fine waiting, thanks.

On the first question: I don't know. I assume it is something Zordar can do perhaps because of something that happened with Teresa long ago.

Question two: They will likely cover that later one they get more into Dessler's story. They did that before in Series 2 of Yamato in 1978. The easiest way is that ship core ship ejected before the rest of his flagship exploded and Gatlantis found him. It has been three years or more since that event in 2199.

As for Keyman, that's entirely an unknown since he is a new character for Yamato 2202. I would assume they will cover it at some point since they are building him up to be a somebody in the Gamilas Empire.

I get the feeling the fight will progressively get more personal from mech vs ship, to punching the bridge to pistoling the mech to a wrestling match on he forward deck of a Medaruusa, and possibly end on the planet's surface.

Dessler's ship appears to be an interesting hybrid tech warship. Its sort of long and thin with seemingly added on wings to carry extra guns and huge missile mounts.

In my opinion the submarines are (Which we only seen in one battle) are replaced by mass fleets of capital ships.

I feel the submarines will come into play solely because they list subspace torpedoes as part of Andromeda and Dreadnought's list of weapons. Would make more sense to use them instead of those flare things.

The first time the submarines were seen was at the Battle of Saturn attacking the Earth fleet, which already had a counter for them. In the film anyway.

In the TV version, a group of them attacked Yamato right after they left Planet 11. Yamato had a makeshift counter that worked as well as a funky Time Radar to locate what it was that attacked. They didn't appear again in the show.

This time around, we know the Earth knows about subspace submarines from fighting Gamilas, so they will be prepared. So it seems likely the subs will attack the Earth fleet later in the series, though they might have them be part of the force that harasses Yamato either on the way to or from Telezart.

About on the Moon got bombard the tar out by the Gatlantis Fortress as we can see on the original had a moon base around how many people got killed in the original. and causing the humans got shocked, and demoralized in the remake might been humans on the lunar cities and the gamilons as well along with the ambassadors and the staff on the Gamilas Embassy had to get to the ships and move on the earth before the infamous bombardment. if zordar had a new menacing laugh as the humans and gamilons got demoralized.

I can wonder if we will get a combined fleet action with the Gamilas coming to help Earth...or even Dessler coming to help, since I think he's got his own goals.

I find it suspect that the shots we see of Dessler's ship teleporting giant missiles to Yamato, he has Gatlantis cruiser escorts painted Gamilas Royal Guard blue, we see some getting destroyed, and than, when all the missiles are gone, we see a Gamilas fleet coming out of warp behind Dessler's ship, and no Gatlantis ships around. Something is up there.

Again on the submarines for a moment. It could be they come to the aid of General Nazca as he flees Planet 11. I could see some subspace subs firing torpedoes at the advancing Earth fleet to cover Nazca's carrier, maybe even destroy a battleship or cruiser before the rest of the Earth ships react and start using their new subspace torpedoes to counter the threat forcing the subs to "surface", and get blown up by shock cannon fire or the new graviton spread launchers.

I also suspect we might see the Earth fleet do a group wave motion gun shot of the crippled Gatlantis 10,000+ fleet over Planet 11 with overlapping fire to lay waste to it. It be even more impressive if the Earth fleet is only 20 to 100 ships that pull this off (since that should be more than just one Andromeda can do).
