They've only full LP'd RE2 and 4.

Pat might be the one more excited though.

wrong there should have been "did they" play RE 1-6.

Well either way when I replated The evil within it reminded me off the whole RE series packed in one.

They did a shitstorm video for Remake and Code Veronica, a full LP for RE2 and RE4, and a single Machinema video for RE6.

Speaking of which, part 2 is now out.

Holy shit, Evil Within ranked 3rd in October's NPD, losing out only to NBA 2K15 and Super Smash Bros.

It's even more telling when you realized that Alien Isolation didn't rank at all

There was a lot of hype and anticipation for it. Isolation not ranking at all surprises me. I hadn't been following the game like that.

The Evil Within first story DLC due early 2015

So 3 DLCs in total, "The Assignment" and "The Consequence" are Kidman's.

"The Keeper" is the 3rd DLC.

So I got my hands on this and I have to say, it's a lot less than I expected it to be. The tutorial was horrible, I must have spent like half an hour in the first bloody room and then another quarter in the second chainsaw killer room. Why? It's because of quite a few things:

1) Sebastian is hurt a LOT and can't outrun anything.
2) That command prompt telling you to stab the butcher is just trolling me.
3) Can't make much of a map about the hospital, which is good because that's how survival horror rolls...but BAD because I can't freaking run away if I'm spotted!!!!
4) At the chainsaw part, there isn't any kind of text to tell you HOW to throw a bottle, although there is one to tell you to pick them up and use them as a distraction.

After forty-some minutes, I got past that shit and into the real deal...and now, I have 3 bullets in mah gun, bare fists that equal death because everything kills you in one hit (the "life bar" is useless) and upgrade points that are just laid out around the map. So, if I miss some, will I have a harder time through the entire game?

Anyway, I stopped at the part with the two monsters since the path I have to take is too long to go through undetected and I can't really fight...plus my patience is running short. Might give this another chance later. Much later.

....Nothing kills you in one hit, at least not in that early of a stage unless you didn't heal up or something it should still take about 4-5 hits though I can't remember.

Melee is a last resort to make space, not a first attack.

Don't worry about green gels, so long as you're no intentionally missing them you'll be fine, though every bit counts.

This game is not going to hold your hand beyond the very, VERY basic instructions.

...Just to be sure, you know you can stealth kill the normal enemies right? As well as shoot them in the leg and burn them when they're down?

Yeah, I tried melee when I was being chased....I was trying to stealthily avoid combat, because I don't have matches and my health is just above critical level. Still couldn't do much.

There are a lot of options in the area.

1) The most obvious answer is to shoot them in the head, but with low ammo and base line accuracy and cric chances, it's ill advice unless 1v1.

2) Shoot them in the leg and burn them, requires matches but is more reliable than the head and can burn nearby bad guys. Lightning the match has no invincibility frame.

3) Stealth Kills, highly advised, but needs to take time. My advice is to mash the button even before the prompt appears for maximum response time.

4)It's difficult, but you can throw the bottles at their face to stun them, then perform a stealth kill from the front. (YOU WOULD NEED TO CROUCH TO DO IT)

5) The axes that you pick up are single use, 1 hit kill weapons. But if you can bunch them up together, the torch can light them all up with one swing.

In the most desperate of time, you can use environmental hazards to your advantage, if you have matches you can burn haystacks and kick it towards the enemy. You can lure them into tripwires and bear traps.

A couple of tips regarding upgrades (I'm not going to spoil any future weapons)

Top Priority

Sprint - Depending on how well you manage your stamina, you don't need to get sprint early on, but for later chapters I would recommend at least Lv 3, which would double your base sprint to 6 seconds.

Handgun - Most important upgrade is accuracy, follow by Cric chance for head explosions. Get both of them up to at least Lv 4 asap. Damage isn't a bad choice, but for most parts I'm willing to bet you'll pull out all of your other guns before resorting to the pistol when fighting bosses and sub-bosses.

Spare Change

Stock - Pretty much everything if you can spare it. There is no harm in carrying more of everything, of course depending on your playstyle you would have different priorities.

Healing - A bit more healing is always good.

Health - Upgrading this restores your health to full, so upgrade only when you're low health.

NEVER TOUCH

Melee - Just... Don't.
