Now that the series has actually started we can finally get to one of my favorite part of this show...It's commentary on heroism!

I feel for Kota. I could never imagine losing my parents at such a young age. It makes his lashing out understandable because while everyone one else sees their deaths as noble sacrifices all this know is mom and dad are never coming back. Hopefully Kota will grow to accept the loss of his family and that they didn't just leave him behind.

Hard hiting stuff I as always.

On a lighter note turn the camping trip into a surprise bootcamp was sick move on UAs part. I understand training to students to be ready for anything but it's summer for God's sake have a heart guys.

I didn't even consider marriage honestly even into the equation. You can be 18 and marry, you can be 25 and marry, you can be 45 and marry, I'm just thinking in terms of being a woman and wanting to stay 18. Whether I had gotten married at that point in my life or not, I still wouldn't have wanted to stay 18.

Also, interestingly, I never got the feeling with the women in Japan either. Sure they do place an emphasis on marriage, but I do notice a lot of 20 somethings who are quite happy to be 20 somethings and are living it up as 20 somethings.

Iida is definitely straight-laced, but Strange? He's basically slightly less of a playboy than Stark, though not so much nowadays I guess.

Unfortunately, the villains aren't waiting for them to have a heart. The kids have put themselves in harm's way just by signing up for UA, and they need to be made ready as soon as possible or they aren't going to live through that choice.

Decided to skip the recap so this is the first episode I've watched. And its looks like we're going to be in for a great time.

But man, what ever happened to Uverworld? They used to be very good, but now they kind of suck. (Or at least the short versions of their songs aren't being used well)

That is very true but it kind of makes me wonder if the villains hadn't decided to become active. What would their school lives be like?

I can imagine not having to look over your shoulder when you're just going to the mall to shop.

It would probably be a bit less demanding. For example the test against the teachers was originally supposed to be against robots, but the faculty decided that the kids needed to be more prepared so they ended up changing it. Without the villains being active, they might have just stuck to the original test.

Their school lives would probably be closer to normal high school, but as we've seen, despite his best efforts, All Might didn't quite defeat the big bad. Which is why Aizawa is accelerating their training, since they're basically preparing for war. A lot of this series focuses on the influence of heroes, and taking out a young class of heroes at the most prestigious school, well, the villains know how much that would hurt public confidence.

Of course that's part of the pressure on Deku. He alone (of the students) knows just how bad shape All Might is in and that he's the next generation, but he's still got a long, long way to go.

2nd episode did show me the results of their training and the experiences they have been through up till now. They really were a rag tag group of students before. But in the forest they showed they could work together as a class as team. They even seem to take into account each others powers and combine them to defeat an enemy. mentally they definitely have grown and their control over their quirks are coming more fine tuned. But physically with the exception of Deku they have not grown. They have spent so much time focusing on controlling their quirks that psychically getting stronger was an afterthought.

Once again the villains find out where our young heros will be and are preparing something special. I hope the baddies dont think its going to be easy especially against the top 4 in the class

EraserHead said they have grown physically stronger actually (gained more stamina, etc...). It's their quirks that haven't improved, and they're not all related to their physical fitness. Incidentally, how is Hagakure supposed to improve her quirk exactly? Making objects invisible, maybe? It certainly would be more convenient for her.

How about starting with learning how to control the invisibility of her own body?

I'll admit it. I just wanna see what she looks like. But your suggestion would potentially make her one of the more OP heroes--which wouldn't be a bad thing, right?

Sometimes it's not a matter of changing the quirk but rather to figure out new uses for it. You know, less "Bleach" and more "One Piece"?

I have to wonder if Hagakure is just able to turn visible whenever she wants to and just chooses not to because she's insecure about her appearance. But I'm sure there was something along the way that shoots that theory down and I just forgot about it

Wasn't Eraser unable to turn off her quirk? Then that means it's of the mutation type like Tsuyu.

Yep. I keep thinking it really sucks for her. Even in a society that's very accepting of weird quirks, not only she'd have a lot of practical problems (cutting her hair or nails, being visited by a doctor, etc.), she'd still have to live with the fact that she does not have a visible face. That's a new whole level of insecurity, especially when it comes to romantic interactions .

I don't think she needs to worry about romance though. The general consensus is she's really cute.

Deku has improved in pretty much all areas. I have wondered about Hagakure since the first season. I means shes invisible thats great for sneak attacks and infiltration, but not much else. Her being able to make objects invisible or even others by touching them would be highly useful. But going through life never being seen by others would just be freakin weird and add new challenges to life. What if she gets injured and needs treatment how the hell are doctors suppose to treat her let alone find her if she unconsciousness

Deku is indeed the one who has improved the most. Then again he pretty much started from zero unlike the others, plus the very nature of his quirk makes his growth more apparent.

Hagakure's quirk is perfect for stealth, but she needs to strip naked in order to make full use of it, which is pretty damn inconvenient, so being able to turn things invisible would get rid of that drawback too. And yeah, it's be a good thing if she could turn visible if she wished it too.

If she can not learn to make things invisible Hagakure needs to hook up with a supporter who can make transparent armor.

If they let a student go naked that's a slew of problems in terms of public perception, exposure to weather, and friendly fire. In fact, didn't Todoroki mention nearly taking her out during the invasion in the first season because he didn't know she was there?

Well Yaoyorozu can make anything as long as its inorganic. She could make something for Hagakure where shes at least somewhat more visible. not sure what that would be tho.
