annoying...how so? i find it pretty interesting myself and it isnt like the flow is disrupted that much...in fact so far it has done a pretty good job at making sense seen as the order is mixed up - i suspect that it will end soon after all the characters have been "introduced" on a deeper level

ep 7 ~

first note!! the OP is sung in english this time (thankfully it wasnt too bad )

anyway its back to business as usual with astral taking up a new case. so unfortuantly there isnt any major character development but we do get to see a new cute Homunculus girl calle lapis.
itsuki somehow bumps into her in the streets and they begin to get to know each other, after handing her his card she later calls him up for a job "bla bla".

they then go beat up a basilisk where she then claim's the core left behind. during the ordeal itsuki uses his eye and is knocked out. nekoyashiki then spent a lot of time trying to surpress the darkenss that has formed around him.

later lapis goes to visit and unconcious itsuki but sparks fly as she is revealed to be a homunculus. she is rejected by mikan who elects a barrier against all things that isnt human and she "freaks out"...she talks to a voice who only she can hear and makes for a quick exit after shooting some energy blast.

in the end it seem that there used to be a member in astral who was kicked out for trying to create a homuculus...that guy apparently has some connection with itsuki's father and in the final scene we see him giving lapis a power up with the core of the basilisk

quite an interesting story we have developing

Well I may prefer the Japanese version, but it's terrible in english.

I'm fine with both versions. It helps that "Faith" was played in Itsuki's power moment in episode 6.

Now, for Episode 7.

That was pretty good. Itsuki's clearly a little crazy with how much he's willing to risk, but he's still a nice guy overall. No signs of sanity being eaten at. Yet. Nekoyashiki continues to remain cool for his cats (four cat-gods that make a barrier. Nice.), and it was nice seeing more of Kuroha-chan again. Also more of Mikan. Itsuki's even got the lolis fighting for his attention now. Though Lapis 2.0 might be a bit of a problem...basilisk eye and all.

But my favorite part of the episode came from the end notes. "As of 11/18/2007, 200,000 yen is worth 1,812 dollars. If this seems like a small amount for fighting a twenty-foot tall dragon, remember that Astral's totally broke."

With the character focus episodes seemingly over, this episode actually was pretty good.

Lapis's (who's name reminds me of Kaze no Stigma) personality, unfortunately, feels like it has been used plenty of times in other shows, like a certain show, and even dresses similar to a certain character of that show.

The terms "basilisk" and "homunculus" are somewhat nostalgic words.
Homunculus because when magic/alchemy is involved (like Buso Renkin), I knew someone like this would appear.
Basilisk because I'm playing "Age of Wonders 3" and there's a basilisk in it, though it's more of an alligator creature than a snake.

Nekoyashiki opens his eyes twice this episode... Once with both eyes

And with Lapis now having a basilisk eye, I look forward to the next episode.
Ever since that guy appeared in that show, I constantly seem to have an interest in the "experiment-on-others-for-your-benefit" characters...

Oh, almost forgot: I enjoyed the English opening, though the words don't fly across at the same speed as the song was sang.

I had a strange thought... Who would win? Neuro or Astral's employees...

The only minor problem I have with the English version is the odd grammar in the last line. "You'll fine your way."

Other than that, everything else works out well enough.
