something occured to me. Even though the IS is sports equipment... why do I feel like barely any of the characters take it seriously?

EDIT: I mean, it's for the pride of their country and what not right?

hey DO have a pride and do their job seriously UNTIL Ichika comes into matter and things went to hell and back, remember that Rin once questioned a direct appointment because she has a date with Ichika, or something, I really forgot. You may ask Box or Eras for detail.

Another trial at reimagining IS:

Houki: Hates everyone. Her sister in particular for pushing the burden of the family martial arts on her. Always fights with Ichika who tries to stifle her bouts of aimless rage.

Rin: Likes Ichika because he's the only one that remains in her memories of better days before her family was broken by the divorce.

Cecilia: Rivals with Ichika. Has a grudging respect for him. Doesn't count the result of their last battle and supports him until the day they can have a proper rematch.

Charlotte: French spy who is very professional in her dealings. Despite her ability to stay professional, her kind personality still shines through.

Laura: German super soldier that vows to one day kill Ichika(who decides that it's fine after learning that it had become her only reason for living). She stays close to him hoping to find an opening one day.

Tatenashi: The crazy mysterious Student Council president that practically no one has seen save for a few senior members since last year. Usually acts like a delinquent but dependable when things get serious.

Kanzashi: Hates Ichika because Byakushiki was originally supposed to be her unit. Until he somehow piloted it and the government let him keep it as a personal unit.

Yes, not without problem though. Sometime it was the knife that prevent blood from spraying around.

It's also impossible to pluck a bullet out of it (I already said the reason)
