Finished watching this anime yesterday. I can't believe I missed out on such a gem back then. Better late than never.

My initial reason for watching it was Ryoko, Hanazawa Kana's first major role. As a humongous fan of her, I had to check out her first performance someday (kept putting it off for some reason). Needless to say, this show exceed all my (meager) expectations. I never thought it would have such a brilliant and thought-provoking plot. The characters were another one of this show's strength. They were so well developed and likable. I was pleasantly surprised they pretty much all survived. I'm so used needless deaths in mecha anime.

As for Ryoko herself, she didn't disappoint one bit. Definitely my favorite character in the show. I'm so glad she won! (honestly, she had won way before the ending - the scene at the public aquarium was the turning point). Another victory for childhood friends. I liked Shizuno too, but Ryoko is more my type.

7 years I have been stuck at episode 10. Dunno why, but at that point it just wasn't interesting.

Now I finally started it again.
Damn, episode 13. And I was so happy to see her in the leather suit...

Finished it.

Really nice anime. Some parts felt quite slow, but in the end it was still a good anime.
Kinda regretting having waited 8 years to finish it, but amen. At least I finished it in the end.

Post-ED scene!!!!!

I finished Zegapain first time around 2010.In that time,I believed that Shizuno is main heroin for Zegapain up until the end.

After four years,I rewatched it again and just finished it.I just realized that the main heroin isn't Shizuno but Kaminagi. How wrong can I be?

The official website was updated with a new key visual:

A Bandai Visual representative also noted via twitter "that this is the eighth "server reset" and encourages fan to "entangle" in the ninth summer since the anime aired in 2006."

Maybe they have something planned for the tenth anniversary of Zegapain? I know I'd definitely love to see something new for this series finally come out .

Whatever the case, at least we get a nice key visual out of it, though Shizuno admittedly looks a little weird .
