To me Rumiko Takahashi's works are like comfort food, you know what to expect from it and if you like it you are in for a treat.

Not sure whether I want to continue with this or not. The comedy was chuckle-worthy and the characters were amusing but that's about it. Overall the whole plot still felt awfully boring.

Watched the first episode. The cast is quite calm (remembering all arguments in Ranma and Inuyasha) but I can't say they are endearing. I'll still give it a try.

Oh gosh, let me guess, Rinne is actually only half Shinigami and half human and thus why he can be in both worlds. He more than likely has an older half brother that's a whole Shinigami and hates his guts. (I think we see someone fighting Rinne who looks a lot like him in the opening.) And of course there is Sakura who out of weird convienence can see spirits and therefore allows her to join the male in his supernatural adventures.

Really, this really does feel like pre-Inuyasha 0.5. I was joking before, but it seems a bit more obvious now.

This show really does have a 90s feel. The characters, the formula, everything.

was like "omg this girl" when she was almost being lead into the reincarnation cycle.

Rinne is going to have his hands full with her for a while.

2nd ep was much calmer and more in tone with the actual pace and feel of the manga (which isn't a good thing, really) but it's understandable and having an episode as messy as last week's again would be too much to handle, so I'm ok with it.

The episode itself wasn't bad yet it was far from being exciting at all but eh... I have to admit I can't help but feel a bit biased towards this show in general because just seeing Rumiko's art makes me extremely nostalgic + nostalgia from being a former manga reader + the overall 90s feel makes it for a killer nostalgia combo </3 and also OP song being so freaking perfect adds a lot as well.

Hopefully It won't take too long to see the rest of the main cast added so things start getting a bit more dynamic.

I laugh everytime the narrator says "blah" Yen on a spirit item, LOL

Sounds like a "As-seen-on-TV" salesman.

While I think the show is ok, it does feel like it lacks any real impact. Something about it just doesn't seem to have much energy to it or something like that. Not sure if its the voice cast or just the plot itself. It kind of feels like the scene with Sakura being lead up towards the ring....just simply content. Like even when Rinne is clearly determined to save Sakura....there doesn't seem to be much energy in the effort.

I wouldn't necessarily want to compare it to Inuyasha....but it really feels like a weaker Inuyasha.

Okay! Little slow on this I guess. Just now figured out why this reminds me of Inuyasha.

In response to several posts I've been checking the manga and it's nothing like Inuyasha but more of a ghost of the week.

Well, besides Rinne being a red short-haired version of Inuyasha (design wise) there are a lot of similarities in setup.

Girl with supernatural powers caught up in things, troubled male lead who will probably end up being some form of half-breed in this series too with how he dances around 'what he is'.

Hell, Rinne even has an analogue to Inuyasha's clothing made of fire rat hair in the special haori.

All he needs now is to go to his fathers grave to claim a special scythe.

Rokumon is cute.

I kinda wish he'd be voiced by Rie Kugimiya, although Hitomi Nabatame is doing good job on him as well.

I think this show is more ranma1/2 than inuyasha.

Rinne often complains about the cost of spirit items. Any ideas as to why? Does it have anything to do with the obsolete rin (厘)? He looks real distressed in the opening over the loss of 10 yen (about a dime).
Interesting that Kappei Yamaguchi (Inuyasha) plays a villain in this one.

You'll find out soon. There is a hint in the opening
