Overall pretty funny so far and I like the two main leads. I think this series has a slice of tone to it as well but I find the comedy to be quite pleasing so far.

OP song is also catchy and the animation seems okay. I've never seen Inuyasha before but this reminds me of a bit of Natsume's Book of Friends + Noragami.

Gosh, been waiting til the subs come out for days, so here i am.

Overall it's OK. The humor is subtle and restrained, and the whole setting that uncannily resembles Natsume Yuujinchou felt pretty charming, and the atmosphere was relaxing somewhat. Just what i really need after long day at work.

Ep 01

Hrm...to be honest the first ep did very little for me.

Maybe I will give it another ep....

To me the first episode wasn't too impressive. The overall flow felt disconnected and it seemed like they tried to cram a lot of things into the 1st ep. I did get a Noragami vibe with the whole money thing.

I'll probably continue watching this series unless it gets worse later.

Well, this was an okay start, not much to it though. I like Rinne and Sakura okay, but there's not much to the plot. I like the fact that practically everything costs money though. That's kind of funny.

Not bad, I liked it more then Re-Kan's 1st epi. Has potential I think. Not sure why the style reminds me of anime from the 90s though Does have that Natsume/Noragami feel to it. Will give it the 3 epi test.

The manga being written & drawn by Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma , & Inuyasha) should give you a very big hint of why it reminds you of 90s anime .

Anyway, not really a fan of Rumiko’s works (especially in anime-form) that involves action and mystics (especially Inuyasha). Alhough I found them quite amusing sometimes, I think the overall stories really feel drawn-out or dragged with superlong episode-count and redundant romance issues (exactly how many times do we have to went through EMO & awkward moments of Kikyou-Inuyasha-Kagome love triangle in Inuyasha? ). That said, episode 1 of Rinne does not impress me much. I might have to drop this if it turns out to be the same old Rumiko fantasy series.

You might've guessed it already but so far the only Rumiko's work that I genuinely like is Maison Ikkoku . I also like her other short works.

Character designs look very 90s.
Liking it to keep watching. Looks like a lighthearted watch.

Japanese sure take things happening to them well.
Heroine aside with her spirit sense, the homeroom teacher sure took suddenly seeing his old dead friend really well.

Certainly felt like we were getting dragged back into the 90s there.

People are remarkably calm in this show. That teacher was pretty darn odd (not just because of those eyes) and took the whole ghost of his friend thing along with his moving on pretty well .

It didn't really impress me as a first episode, but it was ok. At the moment neither of the leads feel very impactful. Seems like they'll have fun with the whole money business, though if they drag out this guy being really darn poor it might get a bit annoying.

This one looks like fun.
Red haired guy, Rokudou, is pretty intriguing.
That Haori is a very interesting item of clothing.
It's about spirits but it totally has its fun sides.
Looks like dealing with spirits has a price tag LOL
No wonder Rokudou is poor..
I'll give it a try.

My first impression of this series was good, the humor hit me right, the animation was good although kinda dated, and the premise was moderately interesting.

Then I went to this thread. Damn, I didn't know this is by Rumiko Takahashi! That's why the art looked so familiar.

Looks like I'm picking up yet another series this season

Oddly enough it feels like an early work of Takahashi's prepping for something greater, la Inuyasha. It has the capacity to improve, but unless you're a huge fan, time could be equally better spent on one of her older works.

Neither did I which explains why it felt 90s to me

This does sort of remind me of pre-Inuyasha, like she just couldn't get the right idea at first and so this was the rough draft of what would later become Inuyasha. Which is kind of weird since Inuyasha came out first, but that's just what it feels like.

I enjoyed Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 as some of my first anime series, but I do feel like I've outgrown them now, and they both were pretty long and tedious. This serious won't be nearly as long, so I'm not sure how it will pan out.

I'm a fan of Inuyasha and seen some Ranma. Though it's only been 1 episode, one thing I don't like is that the facial expressions are really unchanging...something I noticed in Kanketsu hen as well. I'm not sure if that's directing or just the animators doing it, but it kind of irks me. I'll wait for more eps to comment on plot.

I know I've read somewhere that there's a Rumiko Takahashi anime airing this season but I totally forgot about it until I went to this thread. Having watched all of Ranma 1/2 and Maison Ikkoku (I never did see any full episode of Inuyasha or Urusei Yatsura), I'm ashamed I haven't noticed the similarities sooner.

As for the plot, I'm thinking that it works on a per episode basis, I haven't read the source material though so I might be wrong.
