Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?
Some of those after shots don't really look a whole lot better than the pre-rendered ones in terms of detail level.

It's not broadcast. It's a movie showed in theaters.

Perhaps he has discovered anti-depressants because this is surprisingly mild for a Urobuchi movie following in the heels of something like Gaim.

And I thought gaim was quite mild compared to everything before...

Well just finished it, it was pretty nice and thought provoking. An AI that's become human and human that are degenerating into AIs

Best of all that ass!!!

Oh and this poster was EXTREMELY misleading regarding the cast.

This and Gargantia is giving me the feeling he isn't a fan of transhumanism.

Oh yeah, gaim and Fate too. Transhumanism is gaining power and Uro stated every time that power corrupts.

This imo actually adds more context to the ending in Gaim. Previously there was still some discussion about whether his intention was to portray Sagara as neutral or evil. I think we can say definitely say now Sagara and his whole evolving races through destruction is certainly in the latter category regardless whether he believed himself to be neutral or not.

The main girl and the robots seriously give me a Xbox360 vibe.

Not exactly revolutionary, but a nice simple message, expressive characters and good use of CGI

I found it a great contrast how the administrators of Diva acted even less human than Frontier Setter, when under their "management" humanity as they define it has more or less stagnated, with those saved as data living the rest of their existences in an idyllic "prison". "Forever"? They're deluded if they truly believe that.

Compare this to Frontier Setter, who despite being an AI, started to dream about what's out there, enough to start chasing its goal despite the length of time it would take to put everything in working order again.

The distinction between the AIs and the post-humans are definitely blurred in that regard. Humans becoming more machine like while the AI has become more human in his outlook.

So wait an I to understand that this actually ends with a kind of positive upbeat go out and explore the world message rather than some nihilistic one about how one must harden oneself against the foibles of naivete and evils of altruism and the traditional definitions of justice and functional society? That doesn't sound right at all

It must have been written by Urobuchi's non-evil twin or something.

Seriously speaking, perhaps he's finally realizing his outlook on life is just the whining of a little kid who doesn't have enough life experience. People grow up, after all.

And it is fairly upbeat -- even Angela realizes that her world-view was extremely limited, and while she complains to Dingo about the world, she also can see the possibility in the world in the wake of all that she's experience. See her vision of a green oasis, for example.

Contrast this to the status quo of the Diva management.

It's pretty similar to Gargantia in many ways.

Indeed Ledo and Angela are pretty similar characters.

Most of the characters that follow the route you describe usually end up as massive failures in Urobuchi stories. His heroes are usually the ones who press on despite the limitations of their beliefs and achieve their beliefs.
