Yeah, hopefully.
The manga could use a break. Focus on the New Flask Plan, the new Student Council, the school's politics, past favorites who haven't gotten any attention, or even introduce some new enemy. The protagonist dosen't make or break this manga, whose draw has always been it's side characters. Sure, Kumagawa is gone for now, but he also dosen't make or break the manga. But I guess that's asking too much for someone so random(the author).

I doubt it. Despite the fact that I am a longtime fan of the idea of marriage Medaka x Zen.
But I doubt that this will end the arc. Probability - 70% end of arc: Medaka return to the Academy. Probability - 25% end of arc: Medaka new long trip. Probability - 5% end of arc: wedding. Nishino may like the idea of timeskip. However, he has little choices - it is linked by the fact that they can married only after end of the Academy (at least Zen). Although all of course (for me) the wedding is happy ending - sooner or later. Title: Bouquet toss to the future. In any case I think the central theme is Medaka x Zen. Love comedy is back! |

Well, if there's one thing Nishio dosen't need to make clear on, it's the fact that Medaka and Zen are going to end up toguether.
So, really, another arc of that is just beating on a dead horse at this point. I'd much rather have something different.

I'm with you, though. After that ridiculous "The moon vanishes" chapter, I couldn't even bring myself to read the last one. Zero interest. Ah well, have a ton more manga out there to read.

So guys, with the end of an arc here, let me ask: what was your favorite chapter this arc?
I'd probably have to go with "182: My words will reach", if I was being embarrassingly honest. Nishio sure knows how to make build-ups. Runner ups would be: 183, 176 and 168.

Reading the chapter, it struck me as kind of amazing just how much Zen's changed since the beginning of the manga, from 'I live to stand by Medaka's side' to flat out refusing Medaka's request of 'come with me'.
Also, an appearance from the class minus 13's homeroom teacher that I think only appeared in the light novel? And one of the teacher's was Ajimu's 'terminals' as well. Pretty interesting. *Come to think of it, there are alot of character's who are parallels to Zen in this manga, aren't there? There was Zen's recently mentioned and still unseen father who's similar to him in that 'mediocre/ordinary in all respects'. There was the professor who a few other people have described already as a 'Zen who failed'. Even Hanten is a parallel in a way, at least to early Zen, in that both of them only had a single sole desire of 'standing by this extraordinary person's side'. **Also, just who is Nienami? Ever the mystery, that person
