RPG game 'Pastel Memories' gets anime adaptation.

Plot/Info

The "otaku girls" role-playing game takes place "a little bit in the future in 20XX." Akihabara, which was once called "the otaku holy land," is now in decline after otaku culture itself has declined. Players take on the role of a manager of one of the few remaining "otaku shops." The manager helps to "raise" various talented otaku girls, and together, players and the girls battle a "virus" that is infecting the world of various works, while also retrieving people's lost "memories."

Watched episode 1 and 2:

This anime strongly reminds me of an old anime, Eto Rangers. Except this time instead of saving fairy tales, they go to save otaku novels?

Well, good enough. Although can only give it 6/10 for now.
Would have been 7/10 if they did not go over the top with the fanservice at the end theme, that was unecessary.

Definitely this episode would be better enjoyed by those who watched Rozen Maiden, and I did watch RM years ago.. so could understand what's going on. I guess they would not exactly copy Gin's awsome doll dress.

Nice fight at the end with the giant virus.

This time they go into the world of Ro-Kyu-Bu.
Funny that the coach was serious in teaching them, when they told him all grade schoolers would disappear if they lose the basketball match.

I really thought they lost with that last shot in the end.

I never watched "Shogi" or "Go" themed anime, so thought this epiosde would be boring. However, enjoyed how they fought through all the turtles and the match against the mother virus was intense.

now this is a reverse, the evil game took control of the virus instead. I guess Maya cannot summon even the small ones because the mother virus was taken over.

did not expect them to play the yuri card at this point. Well, I just wonder if this will continue to the next episode?

Frankly, despite the setting being what it is, I felt little love for Akihabara and more love for "popular franchises". Also, despite the setting, this cafe hired 12(?) girls. Sure? Also, the character designs feel... weird? Old? And not really in a good way. If for some reason you have not watched Akiba's Trip, I would suggest watching that over this if you want to watch an anime on Akihabara. serenade_beta そのおっぱいで13才 Join Date: Dec 2006	Spoiler for final thoughts: Extremely unmotivated "otaku"-anime. I honestly did not feel any respect for the original sources of parody. Heck, at times, such as with Ro-Kyu-Bu, it felt like they were just making fun of the original source. What is especially fatal to this anime is that they actually copied off of one of their original sources (Gochiusa) without permission, which got the anime in trouble and resulted in the deletion of the episodes including it. Yeah, imagine that. An anime about the destruction of anime/manga memories and parodying... ripping off and getting in trouble due to copyright issues. Doesn't that kinda... make the anime a failure at its message? Also, the production value was horrible. Story wasn't interesting. Characters weren't interesting. The only thing that was partially eyeopening is the ED, due to... umm...
