LiSA's crossing field took me by surprise; I was expecting it to be fairly mediocre, but it turned out to be good on quite a few levels. I'm really looking forward to hearing the full studio version of the song.

The OST is also great. I'm usually not one for OSTs, but I found SAO's quite appealing.

The OP is really good. Accel World's OP was pretty good as well but I liked SAO's OP more.

As for the OST, it's decided. I will definitely buy the CD.

SAO's opening turned out a lot better than I expected. Was lingering around decent when I heard the snippet, and then the tv version ended up boosting it to pretty good.

The OST sounds beautiful though. I can't wait to hear more in the coming weeks.

The music had me thinking of Fate/Zero quite a few times with LiSa and Yuki kaijura. Not necessarily a bad thing though.

My rating on the BGM:

My rating of Crossing Field by LiSA:

You guys don't think it's kind of all over the place? The melody was very dissonant from some moments to the next. The voicing was non-harmonious w/ the music. Copy pasting practically any other song on top of the awesome OP animation made the OP better 0_o

I'm enjoying the OP very much especially the action part where the tempo goes up.

Yuki Kajiura ftw! Sure, she keeps getting typecasted in these composing roles(Fate/Zero, Madoka) but how can we blame her when she keeps putting out these amazingly epic scores? This first episode probably wouldn't have felt half as grandly epic without her music

I wouldn't say that the op music final product was top tier, but LiSa gave some decent vocals. While it was kind of meh during the almost-spoken closure, the actual singing parts were good imo. Was mostly hoping for an upbeat song (check) and nice visuals (check) anyways.

Not at all. I think it's a great piece of work; I simply can't stop listening to it. It's one of my 3 favourite OPs of this season.

As someone who has dabbled in music (drums), the music is definitely great. I also think the vocals are good; I'd prefer it sound like this, rather than sounding like a song that was edited to the extreme, so as to "sound better". I've seen a video or two of her live, and the studio version of the TV size OP doesn't sound too different.

I'm a big fan of almost spoken" parts in music, so I quite liked those parts in the song, especially the bit of English at the very end. :3
