He noticed that:

1. It was an awful Photoshop.

Imho, I think MC is a Kirei Kotomine in the making, he knows the people deceive, lie and manipulate.

In any case, just read this yesterday and was impressed, been a while since I've seen a good horror/mystery series like this one.

Machiya reminds me a bit of Tatsumi Saiga from Speed Grapher in regards to him being a pervert who gets off on watching people die through a camera. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up actually killing people himself at some point.

I meant in terms of personality, Machiya is, if anything, a darker, truly psychotic version of Saiga. In fact, compared to what he has already filmed, I suspect if Machiya did some how get Saiga's powers he would find it downright "boring".

As for Machiya himself actually killing people, I obviously meant committing murders in a more conventional manner, perhaps with a fixed, tripod-mounted camera, with Mai as cameraman, or perhaps the most likely, using a small head or pocket cam to shoot his murders in "first person".
