I couldn't watch the trailer, what the hell is ram is that some real media codec or quicktime.

edit: nvm, i found out its Real Media 6 or something like that, I thought Real Alternative would be able to decode it, guess not. Oh well, I don't feel like installing Real Media Player. Also its licensed by Pioneer announced at Anime Expo 2003.

the trailer's size cant be more than 150x100 pixels :| You cant see much, and the low-bitrate feature of ram makes this hard to see anything at all.

I remember this... I saw the trailer when I went to see Matrix Revolutions. Looks to be stylish if nothing else.

I've been looking forward to this ever since it was announced late last year. Directed by Watanabe-san, it MUST kick some ass. Supposedly it's a historical samurai drama with a hip-hop flare. If this series can do hip-hop what Cowboy Bebop did for jazz, then this will become my favorite anime this year.
The trailer is sugoi sugoi!

uh.. japan hip hop will prolly be wack! lol.... and Cowboy Bebop did nothing for jazz imo... jazz was already great when Bebop rolled around...

the show does look interesting though... i want to watch it!

Series that put in effort into making their music and soundtrack can't be too bad (I hope). If anything goes wrong, there's still the music to look forward to (I hope again). Anyway, Watannabe pulled a great show in Cowboy Bebop, I have faith in him. But looks like no Yoko Kanno this time round.

kind a off topic, but ive never really understood the usage of "sick" as an adjective
i mean....right now i am 'sick' with a cough,
yaaah...whenever i see something described as sick i mentally insert "cool" as a replacement
on the other hand, other stuff which i use like 'cool' and 'sweet' probably sound wierd too , in context

Not sure about a specific date but I think it comes out sometime in the spring. Yeah...pretty vague there.

When I first heard about there being some kind of hip-hop rendition to this anime, I kind of made this "Uggh" sound cuz, well Japanese hip-hop I do not do. Yoko Kanno's music on Cowboy Bebop just made anime and jazz work. It's sad that Kanno won't be doing the music for Champloo, but if Watanabe does want to do this then here's hoping that he'll be able to pull it off.

Could you continue this in the other Samurai Champloo thread located in the General Anime forum (which is the correct place for it since the series hasn't been released yet). The Fansub forum is for discussing anime series currently available as fansubs. And BTW, pre licensed I beleive.

I've renamed the above thread (since the original subject line was meaningless) but you could have easily found it if you used the button.

Closing this thread.
