New Hakuouki anime movies
So the first movie is going to be called Hakuōki: Daichishō Kyoto Ranbu (Hakuōki: Chapter 1 Kyoto Dance) and it will be released on August 24.

False alarm there.
All of them does not indicate a new anime project for Hakuoki. Pr1: New Hakuoki game; not a remake or some weird spinoffs. Pr2: Something about serialization. Probably a manga or novel. Pr3: Hakuoki Event-Sakura no Utage 2013. They held this last year as well. The only plausible choice is 2nd project, but quick glance at the usage of words would easily erase any doubts that this will be in written media, and in GirlsStyle magazine. Keyword: 'Beginning serialization in next issue' (次号よ り連載開始), plus the fact that they collaborated with Girls'Style anyway. Think it would be better to close the thread.

Hakuouki is the most profitable otome game to Otomate from what I've seen and the huge amount of merchandise, events and so on somewhat supports that statement
For those interested the new Hakuouki game is called Urataka Hakuouki and the new characters have been revealed: Takasugi Shinsaku - CV: Tomokazu Sugita Young leader in remorse of his deceased teacher. Connection with Harada: through Shiranui (both anime and game did mention it). Katsura Kogoro - CV: KENN “Run away with a reason.” Connection with Saitou: one is Joi side and one is Shogunate side. Fated to be enemies (he appeared in the recently licensed musou game by AKSYS Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi) Okada Izou - CV: Suzumura Kenichi Sad killer following his teacher’s orders. Connection with Okita: two insane swords shining in battlefield. Thomas Blake Glover - CV: Sakurai Takahiro Mysterious weapon merchant. Connection with Heisuke: an invisible line links them. I'm sure this is going to have an anime someday. And about the Hakuouki movies still no information I think.

Background of the protagonist of Urataka Hakuouki:
Since her parents died when she was young, with her older brother, the siblings run the dojo their father left them. However, her peaceful life was shattered by an intruder - a white-haired monster wearing asagiiro haori. To avenge for her brother, who died protecting her, she picked up her sword. Where will her determination lead her in this upheaval era? Bakumatsu Era described from the opposite point of view from Hakuoki. Not only Shinsengumi members will make an appearance, there will be tons of elements Hakuoki fans will be happy to see. There's people speculating that the movies will be based on this game or a mix between this and the original Hakuouki. Well, when the movies were announced they did say that it was going to have a new story and there's not much left to be said about Hakuouki main characters after Reimeiroku...

The first film will be on cinemas in summer and is going to be called Hakuouki Reimeiroku ~ Shoushinkatari ~
source A movie about Reimeiroku? The anime adaptation wasn't that great because it only had 12 episodes so I wonder what they're going to tell... At least we have Nakata Jouji and Seki Tomokazu duo or not

PV for the first movie
Fujisawa is one of the original game producers and a history freak so at least the plot shouldn't be very bad if he's in charge of the script. Since it's a movie it has better quality than the tv series but nothing too spectacular. I'll still check it out. Could the thread be moved to the movie,ova section?
