Since the Edo periods of Japan, gladiator arenas exist in certain areas. In these arenas, wealthy business owners and merchants hire gladiators to fight in unarmed combat where winner takes all. I've heard this series compared to Baki a lot, but I've never read Baki so I can't comment on that. What I can tell you is that the fights are very over-the-top with each fighter using a unique fighting style, which helps to keep the fights from becoming repetitive. The art is also pretty good as each character has a unique look and design and you can easily tell everyone apart. It's not the most original story or has any deep moments, but if you're looking for a manga that's bloody and ridiculous, then this series might be for you.

this manga is not really like Baki,

it has the "punch real hard to some points and break stronger people" while the Baki verse has the ridiculous "punch punch punch until your enemy is down" which is still badass,

anyway, for everyone who wants to read martial arts/fighting manga like a more "superhuman" version of kenshin mokuro (or whatever that 400+ chapter long karate manga is called) than this is definively something for you,

otherwise you can read the first 10 or so chapter and decide for yourself, i personally wasnt that interested even after 12 or so chapters, the MC seems to be potrayed as a battle maniac while not giving of such vipes (unlike baki and co),
the artstyle would be perfect for some superpower fighting shounen, imagine some artistic-freedom added chi-using fighting verse with the MC being dark because he lost his entire family to some a-hole enemy, for that this style would be perfect,

at least imo but everyone his own, this story definively deserves at least a chance

Well, that shame he died early but Kenga Ashua has proven itself to be a solid story without MC itself.
