The main character representing Sonic the Hedgehog is just a bonus for me too. I grew up with that game series and it's become very important to me.~

Also came across another picture of the cast:

Sadly the only one I really recognize from the Sega side is Sonic. I do recognize a lot of the Nintendo characters though. Not all of them but quite a few.~

It's a little bloodier and a little sexier than I was expecting, but I still enjoyed the first of the miniseries quite a bit. This was written by someone with a lot of respect for video game history, on both sides. I was hoping for a little more screentime with the Nintendo side of things, but from what we saw of them, especially Zelig/Link, they were pretty interesting. Zelig was crazier than I expected any incarnation of Link to be, even the animated series one. ("Well, excuuuuse me, Princess!"). A gap of several months lies ahead before the next episode, so I may rewatch this one a few more times.

That was fast (pacing and dialogue wise), cheap and really dumb. Dumb but in a potentially fun way. I'm not much of a gamer but I got a chuckle out of things like Marcus/Mario riding a dragon/Yoshi and defeating ships by jumping on them. Will be back for more.

Also there's nothing quite like the personification of Tetris constantly making jokes about plugging things into holes and jerking off. Hiro Shimono making shimoneta! /shot

Gear's speed was pretty nice.
Lots of action in this anime.
There are some interesting characters too.
This truly is a shounen anime.

Opal is supposed to represent a spacecraft (you can see elements of it lingering in her design), and Nel is extremely close to her inspiration.

This was so hilariously bad that I enjoyed every minute of it.

Can't believe episode 2 is so far off. This show easily trumps most of the new offerings this season just on sheer entertainment value alone. Mario and Yoshi have never looked so badass

And with the way Columns and Tetris were depicted, I might never look at puzzle games the same way again

This was pretty bad. But, for me, it wasn't bad enough to enjoy in the ironic sense. It just takes itself way too seriously and became pretty boring, pretty quickly.

The next episode won't air until the new year.

Ouch that a long wait. I really enjoyed the first episode, made me smile whenever they throw references related to Sega and Nintendo.

Was that meant to be Tails who was killed off in the first minute?

Not enough of Nintendo characters, I was really looking forward to seeing Kirby and Samus. At least I got to see Majin Mario and Link shooting his full HP master sword effect.

Honestly though the first episode was really poor in terms of... well every thing and yet the premise is interesting enough that it might keep me watching. Heavy emphasize on might.

Anyway is this first manga that managed to get an anime which is not written by a native Japanese person? If so that's pretty interesting.

Is it just me or does the art resemble the style of the Crimson Comics doujin circle?

Also, somehow the dungeon layout reminds me of the Dumbbell houses
