Probably not happening. Registered republicans in CA are down to 30%, followed by independents at 22%. Current trends show that within the next couple of years independents will likely overtake Republicans. It's far more likely that we'll be getting more independents in office if the democrats fail, which is way better than swinging back in the republican direction.

Reminds me of the Conservatives in the UK.
Election before last they ran the entire election on Immigration (or rather against Immigration). Suffice to say, the did not do well. Next election they ran on other issues, and did considerably better (though they didn't get a majority...) |

I feel really guilty about it sometimes...because Christian though I may be, it's equally hard to sit still and listen to messages in church. x_X I'm too used to multitasking...I guess.

Sadly, this election cycle has ended on a sour night: the South Park election special sucked. It said nothing about the electorate and nothing interesting about either candidate (plainly, there was no version of this episode in which Obama actually lost the election). What an awful ending to this election cycle...

But I think things will be fine, Jerry Brown is quite the fiscal conservative considering he was one of those rare Dems back in the 70's already willing to go for a Balanced Budget amendment. Hell maybe that whole pension reform thing will get some traction.

Marijuana legalization victories could be short-lived
http://news.yahoo.com/marijuana-lega...022257328.html Now let's see what Obama does. My bets are on him showing us who he really serves...i.e. Big-Pharma.

I dunno....but at one of the Sunoco's in my hometown, the police turn a blind eye at all the weed dealings going around there because the kids buy them cigarettes. =_=
That gas station itself is so shady...pretty much everyone (drug-free) tries to avoid going in there...

You have a concerted, well-organized effort to destroy this country (as founded) by the communist controllers of the dem. party, the entertainment industry and the print/tv news media. Fundamental Transformation. I would be ashamed to say I was for the casual murder of babies. In support of the above statement they have had great success... Just posting their successes that have changed many opinions. 15) Capture one or both of the political parties in the US 17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism, and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in text books. 20) Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions. 21) Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures. 23) Control art critics and directors of art museums. " Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art". 24) Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. 25) Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography, and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV. 26) Present Homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy". 27) Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch" 28) Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state" 29) Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30) Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man". 32) Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture - - education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. 40) Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. |
