Im mostly at a loss for words

Im going to say it......this beats DESTINY and AGE in the horrible handling department. Those two despite its flaws and whatnot, was still much much much much better paced (episode count doesn't apply really IMO, plenty of animes do extremely well with 24-26 episodes, heck IMO its about the perfect episode count for a series), and much easier to follow

They dont even leave room for a sequel/followup

SO MUCH wasted potential here, most of which I blame on Tomino's nonsense

Best part of the finale was easily Klim using the Crescent Moon ship to run over his father LMFAO (the Dahack was pretty damn impressive in combat too)

The Whole series was a big disappointment, I can see why Tomino left Gundam years ago. His work have gotten stale and series should of been 50 episodes. Bell didn't know who Mask and The war ended in a cease fire was lame. The Taboo breaker, Crump, got his just dessert and the capital army fell apart. I thought Manny is going to die when Kilm plan to kill the black one but didn't happen, I think Tomino should go back to retirement and leave Gundam to the next generation as before.

On one hand I take back to some degree of when I said Tomino got his stride back, sadly the erratic pacing and lack of proper build up lowered the score of this series. On the other hand not only is it the best of his post-Victory stuff, but that final battle was really well done. I think the biggest issue from this series was it having far too many antagonists in it. I admit Mask going nuts in the final ep seemed out of place, but nitpicking aside I am glad Tomino went out with something like this rather than Turn A or Wings of Rean. Plus it is better than Try. Here is where I rank G-Reco, in bold among all the other anime I've watched.

Z'goks last forever!

Steer is easily the best non-combatant.

I really wanted to see Kerbes & Ringo fight while showing off to Raraiya. Cumpa's death was so anticlimatic...and that scream heh. Now Klim crushing his dad and almost everyone on board not caring? That was a golden moment. Damn.

Now for the people from Venus Globe, Flaminia was sure a lot shorter than before... I'll give it a long shot and guess that quite a number of people there use body suits to keep up appearances, like their president.

G-reco...oh G-reco...so many obvious things to point out about you that really doesn't need to be said. While the show left a lot to be desired, it was still largely entertaining on a weekly basis. (except the garbage episode...) I'm definitely going to miss a number of the suits from this series though.

To be fair, all the major leaders who were involved in the war, as an instigator or war monger pretty much all died in the episode. That also seemed to be the most of their military might for each side left too. So a cease fire makes sense. No named character left of the older generation desiring war for <insert reason> along with the fact that I don't think any side sees the need to use up more resources on warring either. Guess everyone is going to just stick to the taboo. For now.

Best final I have seen in gundam in a while. Sorry but you people let gundam age 3rd act and character designs blind you. The pacing was good and easy to follow and made sense to the horrible rushing that happened in part 3.

Also Bell is how you make a pilot who does not want to kill why couldn't kara and Assemu son who does not deserve a name be like this.

No really this final episode was great especially all the battles. Only docking a point because Bell still thinks Aida is his sister. Plus the G arcane was fucking useless and literally ended with a zero kill count. Manny was a fucking better pilot let that sink in for a second.

The bloody hell was that? I didn't even know it was the final episode they actually tried to start wrapping things up. There was way to much going on in this episode to care either. So many questions I can bring up that make absolutely no sense in this episode let alone the entire series.

The sad part is that the actual battle was rather well done if you just ignore the characters. It flat out amazes me how all the battles can be pretty well presented but the plot and character motivations are not. Like why exactly was it okay for Klim to literally run his father (and likely hundreds if not thousands of people) with the crescent ship? Why did the G-Lucifer attack and destroy one of the Ameria's battle ships? I mean I get they were trying to stop the battle (at least I think that's what they were trying to do, like that's the plot to this final couple of episodes?) but she literally blows the ship up and it likely had thousands of people on it... Then you had the G-self defeating one of the enemy's and then in the ending she joins up with them? What...?

I'm not even going to touch the ending which is even worse. This reminds me so much of Red Letter Media's review/takedown of the star wars prequels, this show literately feels like an 8 year old wrote it and NOTHING MADE ANY SENSE!!

Whole show gets a 1/10 for me, especially this episode, if you turn you're brain off or just cut it to be all mechs fighting it might have actually been pretty good but I'm sorry taken as a whole the bad faaaar outweighs the good.

I don't even know if this was really Tomino I mean I like the original Gundam and I loved Zeta even though they have some moderately questionable things that happen but NOTHING compares to how craptastic this show was.

Definitely better than AGE but not as good as either Gundam Build Fighters from the previous seasons. (well, it's different anyways). Still a fun series though with the warfare going on.

I also find Bellri to be quite likable after getting used to him for awhile.

The end!

I watched all 26 episode and kept up with this show since it started. I still have no idea what the main plot was or what was going on.

Was the whole plot to this series to prevent the Reconquista of Earth by the Towasangans? The Capital Army just wanted the G-Self for its technology right? Amerian wanted unlimited batteries?

Did I get most of it or am I completely off?

Seeing Jaburo was cool, but yes, those Z'goks survived a nuclear blast, tough bastards.

So yeah that was the end. Lot of anti-climatic endings or finish for few characters. Overall the ending wasn't bad, they wrapped all much as they can in, albeit it was few seconds. But Kilm's way of getting his father was hilarious, "just crush him!".

I enjoyed the show, for me it was entertaining as hell. The mobile suits in this was really awesome, lot of interesting and original designs. And the animation of the show did those suits justice. But the show had lot of flaws, pacing, and clusters of characters and factions. I still wished it was 50 episodes, it would have benefited tremendously as a longer show.

Overall, I was entertained even though the show is flawed. I am going to remember this show for a long time, mainly because it left me one of the weirdest final impression in anime.

Yep, it's really him. I'll post what I said in episode 23 thread here to answer your curiosity:

In MSG, Hajime Yatate and (to some extend) Yoshikazu Yasuhiko still able to “reign” or “control” him that the pacing is not as superfast with so much infodump left and right like G-Reco (even for Tomino’s series’ standards) and have a lot better characterization. Thank god Origin 1 is directed by Yasuhiko and Imanishi instead of Tomino again. Better to contain Tomino’s crazyness in his own brand new series.
And I still think this series is better than AGE. Why? because G-Reco really knows what it wants and totally aims for it (although it left the audience confused as a result). On the other hand, AGE doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, a grimdark war-story or a kid-friendly show. The result is a series where characters killed (and got killed) left and right due to war (which should be too much for kids) but the narrative itself is oversimplified to accomodate kids that makes many longtime Gundam fans bored or, worse, not caring and simply abandon the show. And don't even get me started on Kio...

Again ignore kio arc and age was a good solid series. Would you really be able to call age bad as it was with out kio arc ?

Please never let tomino make another gundam series again , i wanted to watch all episodes before saying anything.
Its bad plot all over the place , too much factions , backpack of the week problem and pacing issues that make age a masterpiece . terrible overall . mechs and some good fights wont save this

age plot and everything is like upgrade of aldnoah zero
its not perfect but i enjoyed it. esp. asemu the super pilot/pirate. kio is too pacifist i agree

this g-reco as well
i like ost, art, and especially, character and action. those aspects just make me forget about plot at all lol, i dont care. just watching character interraction and intense action (with moonlight butterfly tease) is just amazing

That's a silly thing to say. Whether or not one likes AGE, it includes Kio's arc. There is no such thing as AGE without Kio's arc.

I actually like G Reco. It's a nice break after AGE and Build Fighters.

That being said, this series could easily have been 52 episodes long. It would benefit the story too. The fights were great- seeing the Dahak's features was nice. I kind of hoped for Luin's death (at least kill of Manny q-q ) or a moment of closure on his inferiority complex. Seeing him so crazy on the battlefield, yet so normal after the war feels so off. I also wonder why they never really showed the Gondwan side of things, I thought that would be interesting.

Also, am I the only one who found Bellri's mom to be somewhat jarring during this episode?

Well finally i write something about G-Reco, i waited to watch all the episode before making a coments because i know Tomino is highly controversal, and i didnt want to draw any conclusion yet when i only halfway.

Final Verdict... great but not Epic or Masterpiece. The cast was very intriguing, one of the best i think, there were so many parties, you couldn't follow it all. Storywriting was a mess, friend turning enemys and vice versa in 1 ep... and some logical choices are also highly illogical...

But what the series did best was getting me interested and keeping during the whole serie. You never know what to expect next and always wanted to know what will happening next. In this regard it beats GBF Try by miles, GBFT first half was very good but the latter half was a huge disappointment...

Overall i would score the serie a solid 8.75 nearly 9 but not quite 9.

Cast 10
Story 7.5
Fights/Animation 8,5

Im going to refer to Monster's quote here that AGE IS NOT AGE, without the Kio Arc, however bad it may be. Judging a whole show while ignoring a third of its contents on purpose leads to an extremely biased/incomplete judgement. Yes Kio Arc was bad, yet the main problem is with the horrible handling of Kio himself and the pacing of the second half of Part3 (which is as bad as the pacing in G-Reco as a whole). The plot is still easy to follow despite some useless add-ons/twists, the Vegans still have their same goal, the EF is still doing what they can to stop them etc. And yes part 1-2 was fucking awesome in my opinion, and would have been more so if the series was not geared towards fucking kids with the designs and some plot points

I never said anything about the whole "not wanting to kill thing" O_o, heck Bell is easily one of the best out there in that regard

The battles I grant are nice at some points, like the Dahack taking on the G-IT units or the final part of the Bell/Mask fight, however when you look at the fight as a whole there just too many breaks and jumps to the point its inconsistent. And then we have stuff like that G-IT girl suddenly just changing her mind despite the strong convictions we have seen with her before, or Klim saying he was going to go after Mask, yet never doing so, the G-Lucifer destroying an AMERIAN battleship??? Aida (like you said) being quite possibly one of the biggest fucking disappointments ever (I literally gave up on getting a G-Arcane model just to how poor of a showing it had).

The only people here who seemed to do what was needed to be done was Bell, Mask, and Manny. Bell went around trying to do what he could while being constantly dogged by Mask and Manny, to the point he was forced out of the main fight. Mask then kept after him mostly till the very end, and succeeds through a surprise attack to actually damage the Perfect Backpack, as well as disabling the G-Self (kudos, that thing really needed to get damaged). Manny (despite her somewhat weird character change about killing Bell, they made her too...bloodthirsty?) did what she could until Mask told her to stop, which she actually did

What The Heck Was That?! That was the weirdest most breakneck whiplash I've ever seen!
First Luin and Manny want to murder Bellri for some reason out of nowhere, Commander Cumpa gets tossed of a cliff by accident, the G-IT lab guys stop for no reason whatsoever, and the war just ends because?!

And of course "Ameria" has to be the bad guy in all this for no reason whatsoever.

Anyway, that was a ridiculous end to a ridiculous series. At least it's over. Hopefully the next Gundam series gets much better writers.

No, I'm not going to say this was better than Age. I say congrats to Reconguista. I didn't think anything could steal the bottom slot for recent Gundam from Age, but you did it. Congrats . This makes clear Tomino should stay wherever he was before this.

In the end the show had some nice action scenes, and I liked the main theme for the action scenes....but that's about it.

The characters were bizarre, random, and the story just never seemed to get anywhere. He we were with all this stuff going on, and I didn't really care . Things just never made any damn sense in this show. There is quirky and then there is downright idiotic.

So yeah we are two Gundam shows in a row that I thought were questionable. Though now I have a much stronger appreciation for Age. You cut out the third arc and it was actually pretty solid . And even with it, not as bad as this. Maybe we can get closer to the Gundam 00 quality level next time.

RIP this show....just please never return from the grave .
