Sure. Souma played that trick already, and I don't even think he's the only one.
But there are two things to consider: - it's not a case of "the first bite is great, and the second is even greater". It's a case of "the first plate isn't "get naked good". - who's supposed to eat that dish? If the answer isn't "sumo looking to get his carbs and protein", it's a bit much to ask them to eat two servings. |

Episode 10:
So the finals concluded. Akira came out on top as the victory but honestly, I think it was a close match and all three competitors did well. I like how they showed some of Akira's background/past as well. Anyways, it was a good tournament overall, felt like the first few episodes were rushed but the latter ones quite well done in terms of performance and colorful expressions. Oh and I always love it when Alice's mom speaks in unbroken Japanese

If we assume that the last 3 episodes will be Stagiaire, then her appearance would only be in episode 11 and probably ( depends on how they would end it) the last episode. But if you ask me it won't matter for this anime anyway.

Episode 10
So a second helping of Soma's dish rips old man Nakiri's clothes instantly. Isshiki explains why no one likes Soma. Apart from him publicly insulting Totsuki by calling it a stepping stone, they don't want to admit that they're not trying hard enough. Soma isn't naturally talented like Hayama or Erina but that never stops him from getting better and continuously challenging those stronger than him. Most people would give up or not try hard enough because it would be pointless anyway once faced with a naturally talented super strong opponent. Soma would give it his all and reflect on his mistakes and make things right. And Soma places second, losing to Hayama. Ryo coming in third was expected since he easily lost to Hayama and obviously they wouldn't be so cruel with Soma to place him third. Hayama's dream to make things up to Jun by becoming the very best that no one ever was is coming true as he's second only to Erina among the first years. And Soma and Ryo aren't over the loss. They want to get better and want to learn stuff from Hayama's winning dish. They continue to compare their dishes at Hayama's place like a couple of freeloaders lol. And now the kids will be sent to the practical world to work in restaurants and Soma probably goes to France for the pink haired dude since he gets focus in the ED despite him not having shown up so far. |

Sheesh, just watched the latest episode of the anime and Hayama winning still feels forced, especially the flashbacks. Now before you say anything I'm ok with Souma losing, but the reason they gave was and still feels cheap in my opinion amd the flashbacks were just there to force you to like Hayama, why not show them earlier instead of shoehorning them at that moment? All I felt was disconnected from him and his story since I barely knew anything or cared outside of Soumas next opponent, heck, Ryos' worked well and made me like the guy, so why wait until now to show it?
Well at least the next few arcs are good and then the edge will be revealed.
