Back when everything went horribly wrong, I posted the comment "And thus, as foretold, did darkness prevail and light expire" used in Kingdom Hearts 3 after all the Guardians got 'killed'. But I only used the quote because it seemed similarly fitting. I never expected that the solution to the problem would be the same solution used in KH3!

Ok, can't say I expected time travel to be a solution here. Although it does make sense on a certain level. The big issue is Pandora's past. She couldn't open the box and lived through too many painful events. The only question I suppose is how far back Illya is going to be going. A few years back? Or all the way back to the age of the gods?

Also does this mean Illya is being sent to the past by herself? How much can she seriously accomplish without Ruby or any cards? I suppose finding a solution doesn't necessarily demand combat, but I doubt she's going anywhere safe.

Considering this arc has really felt like a lostbelt in a few ways...time traveling to try and solve the issue seems pretty perfect. Good luck to Illya. Thanks to the random combo of warped (yet powerful) individuals she is on her way

Only her mind/soul/consciousness is going back, not her herself. Meaning she can't go back any further than the start of 3rei.

The part that I do not understand is, how can they do that and not create a classic paradox? One of the few rules any universe (at not quantum levels) works on is causality afaik.

I do not grasp what difference an observer makes.

Illya goes back in time, changes the past, that world no longer goes to ruin *pachi* *pachi* *pachi* therefore Miyu (in the recent past) does not need to escape to Illya's earth to avoid the ainsworth's, therefore Illya does not travel to Miyu's world. If they introduce parallel world lines then that means an alternate timeline where Miyu's world is saved is created, but that does not change the fact that every human being that traveled from Illya's world is also dead and probably unrecoverable since that timeline will go into oblivion in no time.

Illya can't change events she wasn't a part of. As said earlier, she can only go back as far as the beginning of Drei. My guess is that she'll go back to when they were making plans for the final battle at Shirou's house. This time, Angelica and Shirou will probably participate. Illya could also try to hunt Gil down to convince him to help.

I know the focus is on the time traveling business. But I just remembered that Lancelot Sakura never did reappear. Spent all that time waiting for her to show up at the worst possible time. Guess she got wiped out when everything went to hell on them . Although I guess depending on how things play out she could still be a dangerous wild card in all this.

Only sending her back a little ways in time is admittedly less cool than throwing her way into the past, but oh well. I'm kind of curious what the plan is here. And I bet Illya feels the same considering she was sent back in time with barely an idea about what she's even supposed to do.

The only solution I can imagine is still about getting Pandora to just open the darn box. Not exactly sure about the consequences of the time traveling here. Will the future just be overwritten by whatever Illya does? Admittedly that's a good way to keep Miyu, Kuro, and the entire population of Earth alive so I'm not against it. Should still get another big showdown with Darius since I can't imagine we end without a more complete conclusion there.

Ok, so here's where we are going. A pretty direct look at how Pandora ended up with that Erika personality. Not that we needed more examples of Darius being a twisted piece of work. Kind of uncomfortable with him apparently able to perceive Illya passing through time like that.

Looks like we're really taking a dive into the past though. Seems as if we will actually dive right into the ancient times where Pandora originated. Again not sure how things will play out since as of right now Illya is just perceiving events from a distance. She may still be pulled back into reality at an earlier time than which she leapt from. But we'll have to wait and see there.

And hey insert reference to the original Illya OP song. Though could just be creative license from the translation team there.

On the positive side this does help cover how Illya will be viewing the past. Though clearly some perceptive entities like Darius may be detecting her. All the more so if she loudly yells at them .

It will be interesting if we get to see some familiar faces as we go back. Plenty of room for that since Pandora did exist from the age of gods to the modern day. Of course the messed up Darius scene is likely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to witnessing Pandora's history.

Or they'll just pull a Zouken and say he lived too long (especially with it looking like he's 5x Zouken's age) and forgot his original goal and just got twisted along the way.

He hasn't forgotten his original goal. He just has more than one goal in the present.

I dunno, going from burning his own hand to make a point about wanting to give Pandora the rest/sleep she deserves to forcing her to vomit blood mud and mind screw her just to get her out of his way seems like he's completely lost sight of his original goal.

Yeah, I'm going to lean towards him having forgotten his original goal. At the very least that goal is buried amidst Darius' madness and twisted right up. Even just the previous jump for Illya showed that. He's so far gone that he outright reset Pandora. Messing with Julian and Pandora's heads at the same time.

He's still working towards the general idea of his original goal. But he's picked up more goals along the way and clearly gone completely insane. Now it will be interesting to see how they choose to handle it. Either he lived too long or despair at Pandora's situation along with the state of the world sent him into madness. Or a combination of both.

So now Illya has gotten to see how these two met. Curious if we're going to keep going back towards Pandora's origin or hang around a bit to see how Darius and Pandora continued forward together. Could go either way, but I think we're probably staying with these two for a while. If only to see when Darius truly started to break. Regardless though, this was a good chapter. Seeing a Darius that was actually a good guy was interesting. Certainly can understand the desire to help Pandora out. All the more so when she gave solid looks at the horrors of her existence to that point. Really a shame that he turned into such a monster by the end.
