Windows Media Player can only cause problems. It's good for nothing.

Does it work in other players, like BSPlayer say?

Corrupted .ogm file o,o!?

Hi, I downloaded this anime and its in .ogm format. I finally found a compatible player to support it. However, after a few days i start to get errors. At first, the subtitles doesnt load properly (doesnt appear sub titles). And then... After a few days, it stopped working completely! I am suspecting the files are corrupted... heres the error script i got from using the Encore Media Player.

If this is corrupted, is there any way to fix the problem? I tried to use bit torrent to fix the problem, but it shows up as 100%.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

i would try two things

get media player classic or video lan ( http://sf.net , search for 'media player classic' and http://www.videolan.org )
they're both in the sticky thread

and, i would check the sfv or md5sum if they provided any

if that doesn't help..

the true story of .Ogm and the serious lag

well basically I downloaded a couple episodes of a oldschool series and two movies not related to eachother or the series but all of which are .ogm files, I know that the files are ogg vorbis codecs and I downloaded all the programs to pley ogm files and whatnot but heres the trouble, they all open play and the sound is fine but the video itself lags rediculously up to and sometimes over 20 seconds behind.. now I was using Divx player to play these and thought that may be the problem so I opened them in bsplayer and MP classic as well and they all performed the same way; serious lag, now I know its not the files themselves for when I play with the marker in either players it corrects itself but withen 10 seconds of being corrected they are lagging behind again. I have 250 mb ram my cpu while trying was little over 40% and my processor speed is above the requirments to play these files. is their a solution? am I missing something important in options? its an inconveinience either way.

Thanks in advance.
Rob

Download and install this Direct-show filter.
http://www.vorbis.com/files/1.0/tobias/OggDS0995.exe

This will work with Mplayer, BSplayer, Zoom and other players

To change audio streams, you can do it within Zoom or BSplayer. For Mplayer, you will see the icon on your taskbar and you will have to select the audio stream.

HELP!!! I've recently downloaded everything necessary to play OGM files, and it works!! BUT there are these two files where for some reason I can't switch on subtitles, Subtitle Shower or however it's called doesn't work on my comp I use DVobSub (or however it's called). Please help me.
By the way, please don't sound too technical, I'm pretty much new to this stuff

on a sidenote I really like the pic in your signature Yamano667, is it from an anime?

Well, I'll just reuse something I say whenever someone has a Playback problem.
1. Uninstall all your codecs
2. Go here, install ffdshow-alpha [Level 1] and OggDS [Level 2]
3. Playback the file with your favourite player i.e. WMP

I prefer VLC media player because:
You can watch files that arenīt entirely complete! (very good when you got 99% and no seeds)
It support almost all files when installed (no need for codecs)
Itīs extremely easy to change subtitles & video display when watching .ogm files and equals.

It's always a good idea to try different players.
I like to watch anime with WMP, but bsplayer and VLC are also nice.
For files that crash those players try PowerDVD, if you have it.
That player even works with the most problematic videos.

well, it seems like i found a solution myself...

as far as nobody answered to my request of help... i tried some things on my own, without knowing if it'd work...

so thats what i did...
i uninstalled all codecs , video-filters, and all the stuff i loaded to watch my downloaded animes.
then i installed zoomplayer and this "OggDS0995"-thing (dont know what it is good for... (got sth to do with that ogm-file-type-thing)
and i loaded all the "Fruits Basket" episodes again...

after that i didnt have any problems yet.
i guess it's been an "error" or sth while downloading...

well... ... at least im sending these greetings to all anime-fans
