It's a rumor, but it would make sense, seeing as it would virtually be at its 4th year anniversary as Medaka Box debuted on issue 24.

There isn't such thing, every volume since vol.15 was around 130k.

Holding steady with two anime seasons and a lot of promotion in JUMP is pretty pathetic, I honestly can't think of another JUMP series that didn't get a bump due to an anime.

Heck most series get a pre-anime bump due to the magazine hyping things up and than they get another bump after the anime, Medaka Box had neither.

To be fair, the first anime season wasn't all that great, and season 2 didn't help as much either.
I don't think as many people cared about the series pre-kumagawa, and the first anime season must've been enough to drive people away.

If anything, this is a testament to how poorly conceived the first season was, which we already knew.

Medaka and Kumagawa have a long fight and both end up laying on the ground after the fight. Kumagawa gets up while Medaka stays on the ground and says, " I have lost to you again". Kumagawa is so happy but tells her, " since I won I can't give you my brooch but I know Ajimu would like you to have hers and as your older brother I'm telling you to graduate before coming out to the adult world". Medaka tells Misogi this, " I don't think I can call you older brother anymore since I think I'm starting to fall for you". Kumagawa blushes and says this, " well I'll give you this like I said I would" and hands her his second button. Parting with these words he says "once you have moved on from Zenkichi and can love me more than him come get my brooch".

Now that Medaka has lost she has no choice but to stay in school and graduate but before that she reads what the brooch says. She notices that the brooch was meant for Zenkichi and that it leads to a certain place. Both Medaka and Zen decide to this one last thing together and head to that place. While Medaka doesn't recognize this place Zenkichi feels like he's been here before. After a few minutes tears start dropping from Zenkichi as he starts to regain his memory back and finally remembers everything he says this "she really is gone, huh?. Ajimu then jumps towards Zenkichi and says this "I'm so happy you finally remember me". Later on Medaka and Zenkichi have a talk and Zen lets her know that even though he still loves her Ajimu is the only one for her as he remembers who she really is. While Medaka lets him know that she will move on and is looking forward to seeing Kumagawa in the future.

After that I guess there could be like a time skip to the graduation and showing Medaka and company looking for Kumagawa. They find him and kumagawa gives her his brooch while she stands beside him and ajimu next to zenkichi while everybody else is behind. Then they can say a corny line like "Now its time to change the world."

In the end this is nothing but fanfiction since I'm sure it wont happen.

I was trying not to go into too much detail but I wouldn't mind something similar to what I just typed. Atleast so it can cover who Ajimu really is to Zenkichi. But if it does continue more than 5 chapters I don't care what happens as long as it good. I'm just wondering what can Nisio do in 5 more chapters.

I really don't hate the idea of Medaka x Zenkchi and I would be satisfied with it. But I do slightly prefer Medaka x Kumagawa and Zenkichi x Emakue. I'm pretty sure Emakue x Zenkichi is never going to happen but Ajimu is my second choice and I think that one is possible if Nisio decides to bring her back. I was really warming up to Nienami so I hope this manga doesn't end in 5 more chapters and I get to see more of her.

Now here is what I think is going to happen:

Medaka beats Kumagawa next chapter and finally gets all 100.
Don't exactly know what happens after that but somehow I think it will go back to Zen and Medaka's wedding plans leading to the wedding.

It's not that I hate this season. I hate the fact that they really stretched the material for the first season. Look at Btoom! - they managed to adapt 31 weekly and 19 monthly chapters in 12 episodes! (though they cut some stuff but not a lot). Some stuff was also cut in the second season of anime version but the 1st one was... too slow IMO.

Then I guess I'm in the minority on that. Certainly the definitive trope exploring didn't come about in full force until Kumagawa, but I think the themes were put in place well enough to offer a contrast. Medaka's always been a nearly unstoppable force whether defined as an abnormal or not, but I think important themes of success being predetermined were established.

Without that contrast, I don't the transition would be as eye-opening.

^You should have seen it coming when Zenkichi surpassed Medaka and after this one had a recollection of all her memories in the academy while looking at the Moon.
