Remember, Space Battleship Yamato fans waited effectively 26 years for more Yamato, and now they will have three movies in the span of four years. (if you don't count Yamato 2520 and Dai-Yamato, since niether were about the original ship or crew)

Yhep, that's about how I think I'll be if I keep waiting for FMP. Face it, it's highly unlikely that we'll ever get more animated FMP.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Not with the kind of anime Kyoani prefers to make right now, nope .

I enjoyed Kyoani's TSR far more than Gonzo's first season, but I might as well ask: is there a chance that another studio is going to save this series from limbo? Too much to ask?

I believe the problems lies in that KyoAni now owns the rights to anime FMP! ?

Well see still don't know what they are going to do next, since whatever magazine the news is suppose to be in hasn't been released yet. The last thing we know of that they are doing in the K-On movie in a month's time and releasing the rest of Nichijou on DVD and BR (no known additions to that series at this time).

Oh look, still no FMP in the near future. What a surprise.

Wasn't is a committee project (several studios working on it)? Though KyoAni did take teh lion share in the later series, they still listed it as a group effort.

Maybe it isn't just KyoAni that is the problem (they would seem to have a waiting list if they talk from KEY is any indication about KyoAni's workload.)

I guess we just have to forget about FMP being animated for a long time and hopefully they surprise us with a announcement.

Who am I kidding? It's never coming!

I won't give up until there's no chance for the animator to make money. I'll just keep getting discouraged by the fact that it's taking so long.

3) I'm starting on an entirely new comedy series to be released by Fujimi, entitled "Amagi Brilliant Park" (title may change later)

4) I want to continue writing Cop Craft but it might be difficult because I'm working on things for 2013 that I can't talk about yet.

5) Oh and among those things I can't talk about is something that everyone's been waiting for.

Sadly I still think it probably isn't more FMP anime. Maybe another novel but probably not a new anime. (yes, I've become that pessimistic about FMP)

I refuse to get my hopes up because now that he has a career in scriptwriting, it could be anything. Like Planetarian as scripted by Gatoh.

Wait, that actually sounds awesome.

Regardless...

*crosses fingers*

There's actually a good chance that this finally is the new anime. Think about it... FMP Sigma will probably be ending sometime in 2013, the amount of time on the project sounds more like an anime, he HAS said in the past that things were being talked about, but not decided, and he said it's something that people have been waiting for. This could really be it. I'm quite hopeful. The only problem is, we won't hear whether or not it actually is for a long time XD It stands a damn good chance, though, and is the most promising of every bit of news from the past few years. I think this is the one. ^^ *ever the optimist*

As far as "anticipated" projects involving Gatoh that everyone has been waiting for, only one comes to my mind, and that's a new FMP anime. The translation could be a little misleading and that might not be the implication, but I'm still hopeful. We've already waited this long, so what's another year or two?

The word he used is one that DEFINITELY implies anticipation and a long wait. ^^

The tweet:
ちなみにまだ言えない企画の中には、「待望の…」って感じのものもいくつかあります。まだずっ と先だけど。

The word in question:
待望 【たいぼう】 (n,vs) (1) expectant waiting; (adj-no) (2) long-awaited; (P); ED

Same here.

Paint me cynical, but nothing short of an actual trailer would convince me that a new anime is coming.

And then there's the matter on which studio would handle it, anyway (You hear me, Kyoani?! I'll never forget Endless Eight, Ever!)
