Actually, the anime is not an adapation of anything. It is all based on original marterial.

That's also true and thus there is the possibility that it can evolve into another season with different characters but same theme.

Oh I thought it was adaptation of a VN because Key was involved. Regardless, the anime ended in a way that there's no way you can continue it from there on unless it was about the characters in '' real world '' but that would be nothing like the first season then.

The idea Francis suggested is even less likely ..

Why not? They could have the kids of those people who were in season 1 for example or something like that. I think it would be great!

The prequel manga/LN were made in parallel to the anime, so yup original.

watched the anime, loved the ending. sure it didnt show everyone transcending. But it didnt really need to do that, they heard Otonashi's story of how they are there to move on and not fight endlessly.

just like how the band said we have no singers so we out...and the whole room pretty much vanished.

lots of them didn't need to say goodbye because they come to terms with it. and im fine with that. sure we didn't get to see or hear everyone's back story, but hey thats what the imagination is for lol

one thing i enjoyed was the comedy moments.....when someone would die and the music would be all sad, then it would go right back to their faces and they all didnt care....and when she put them all on the rocket chairs and it would replay the act in slo mo and play the songs lol classic.

Don't expect more than fanservice.
Just the fact that Yui is going to be there mean it'll be all about fanservice.

I suppose, OVA really do lead nowhere most of the time. But atleast the fan-service will make up for it right?

As for the OVA business.. No doubt if we get one, it'll be some pointless episode that will take place sometime before they all left that world and will just include fanservice or whatnot. Well, it's still better than nothing, right ?

Actually, according to the second chart of the Winter Expectation thread, the OAD coming with the final DVD/BD volume is titled "Another Epilogue." If that's true, it sounds like it'll be either an Alternate ending, or takes place after the ending. (and I'm all for more YuzuruxKanade

But awesome if that's true regarding about alternate ending or taking place after the ending. I hope for the latter, we don't really need alternate ending ..

We're definitely getting an OAD/OVA. (I don't know if the talk here was speculation or not, I just popped in and saw the talk about an OVA) The final BD/DVD comes with an unreleased special episode along with episode 13 on December 22nd. I just haven't seen anything as to the title of the extra episode or what it's about beyond the link in my previous post. I'd say it's far more likely we'll get an actual epilogue rather than an alternate ending. (unless the alternate ending takes us past Yuzuru and Kanade's reunion in the real world)

As for the difference between OAD and OVA, I'm not sure.

Extra episode = extra episode to me.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any announcement about what exactly the episode will be about.

Note, wikipedia says the final volume will come with both an unreleased OVA episode and a short film epilogue to the series, so maybe you might get just that, Reg.

Quite low, Angel Beats had a pretty main focus on its main characters more then its side characters, so a little backstory about the other front members will be surprising to see.

So its an OVA, that has some story to the anime and may give us some more info about the characters after all?
